Coastal City Retreat - New Brighton Accommodation

Very clean and comfortable accommodation , it was just like staying in your own home everything in the the apartment was provided 😊.wanted for nothing! Close to Christchurch by car,

All was well.

From the front door, it takes less time to walk to the pier than to walk along the pier from one end to the other! The unit was very quiet and well lit with morning sunlight streaming into bedroom. An airy feel throughout the cottage. There's a nearby bus stop if that's useful. Busses would stage their runs out on the street but they were so quiet as to almost be unnoticed. Super easy access, right next to the mall for groceries, post, chemist, etc. Loved the little sunroom, enjoying the morning light and warmth with cup of plunger coffee, ready to start the day! Plus easy walking distance to the Hei Puna Taimoana hot pools.

Single glazed windows can let the temp drop a bit at night during cooler months, but the heat pump more than covers for this! If you're relying on a car, the parking spot is small; not entirely sure if that's what it was, but street parking also available another 5 paces away. Adding a shower curtain would help prevent water escaping onto the bathroom floor.

The location was very good for us as visiting family in the area and close to shops & the beach.

The lockbox to obtain the keys was a bit of a struggle, couldn't find the pin in the many emails received but rang the 0800#

Comfortable and only 15 minutes into center of Christchurch.

Great location at walking distance from shops, restaurants and beach. The accomodation was very spacious and equipped with all conveniences one would have at home as well. The kitchen has everything one would need for cooking - and even more. Like a bread toaster and a sandwich iron. There is a full size fridge with large freezing section and a stove with oven. WiFi is fast and reliable. When having a small issue, the owner came over immediately and helped us out. Highly recommended accomodation!

A shower curtain in the bathroom would be a nice addition. It would keep the rest of the bathroom floor dry. The heat pump in the lounge area did not provide warm air, but the owner supplied some electric heaters which did a perfect job as well.

The biggest problem was the endless email correspondence that seemed to come from two different sources with unclear information about whether bedding was supplied, different lockbox numbers etc. Very annoying and confusing. If there are two agencies involved perhaps they could get their acts together. The lockbox was not terribly easy to open or close but we got there in the end!

Saw on website there was no wi-fi… There is wi-fi :)
