"It would have been decent without the blaring, window rattling music."

2.0

Accomodation was spacious, close to the estuary and beach and value for money

The music pounding every night till 4am in the morning was so loud that we battled to sleep. The beds were also not comfortable. The street party over the estuary and tavern noise should have been explained because it is sooooo bad that it is totally unacceptable!!

Everything was excellent! Was there for work, but I would definitely head back for a week of Holiday and Fishing!

Everything was perfect.

"Iyaka Was Lovely — Port St. Johns Was Not."

8.0

The view from the guesthouse is incredible. The facilities were clean and recently refurbished. Fantastic, hot shower in the bathroom. Quick access to Second Beach. Safe and secure stay.

I think the only gripe we had with the facilties/amenities was that the bed, which was fairly new, had quite a firm mattress. We were told by our host, so we anticipated it and managed to sleep well. I think one major detractor that caught us off guard was the drive all the way from Mthatha to Port St Johns, and the Greater Port St Johns. The Eastern Cape have some of the country's most incredible sights. But, it is ruined by the complete absence of law enforcement and dilapidated, lack of infrastructure and city/municipal planning. It is a massive chore being tourist in the once renowed Port St Johns. Ikaya and its views were incredible; but the town needs an urgent revival!

"We will NEVER go back!"

2.0

Spacious, hot showers, close to the beach, place was rustic but comfortable.

Music from a tavern over the river played extremely loud music every night till 4am. I understand the owners may have little control over this but it should have been mentioned. Most of us struggled to sleep

"Great for an overnight stop, unfortunately town is not so great"

8.0

Lovely place for those who aren't expecting luxury. It is rustic but comfortable, equipped with all one needs to stay for a few days.

I wouldn't change anything about the accommodation, just be weary when going in to town. Lots of potholes in the road, speed bumps and livestock as well. There was a party across the way from the property but luckily for us it rained that night so the noise was little to none. Safety outside the accommodation is questionable as well.
