Waterfront Cabin 20 Mins to National Park & Massanutten!

We loved the property and grounds—being right on the lake with easy access was amazing, and the water toys (kayaks, paddle boards, canoes) were so much fun. The outdoor space was great too, with swings, toys, and a hot tub. Inside, the kitchen’s open layout to the living room made it easy to spend time together, and the seating was very comfortable. Everything was clean and nicely decorated, which made for a really enjoyable stay. The sunroom overlooking the lake is what it’s all about—such a special spot. Proximity to Shenandoah hiking within a half an hour drive and pet friendly! Would definitely stay here again.

One of the two bedrooms had a rickety bunk bed with uncomfortable mattresses, which made sleeping in that room less enjoyable.

The lake view and access was wonderful. We were swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing. House was very clean and had everything we needed. We didn’t want to leave . Jacuzzi was a grat trat too. I don’t think it can sleep 10 people lbut it was comfortable for family of 5 and 2 dogs.

Everything was pretty dirty and full of dog hair. When we arrived, there was a poop bag left next to the staircase entrance… The bed over bed was very wobbly, so it was only possible for me and my little daughter to sleep on the lower bed. My husband had to sleep on the sofa bed, what is not really comfortable. The first night he also had no bedsheets… they arrived then on Friday, and we had to use them, but of course without the possibility of washing them before. Booking showed us a third bedroom, but it wasn’t there. We only had 4 shower towels, but we were 6 people. All the towels smelled really bad, like someone forgot them in the washing machine for days… you can’t really know if they are fresh or not. On the pictures we didn’t realize, that the dinnertable is outside, with the cold temperatures it’s not really enjoyable to eat outside with the kids in the cold, we used the fireplace to warm it up, but it was still cold. The tap water smells like sulfur. After all of this we thought, ok, let’s enjoy it anyway … we can use the hot tub … but than we saw the poorly maintained hot tub… with one foot missing water inside, mold everywhere and a bad chemical smell. It was our anniversary and we wanted to relax and enjoy it. But instead we got a dirty house, without the promised hot tub. We tried to do make the most of our holidays and give the house a chance, even in this condition… but the hot tub thing, was really the most disgusting thing I ever had. James and Rachel were nice, but it doesn't do us any good if our vacation was ruined, especially since we paid so much for it.

The location was amazing!

The views were amazing. The home was equipped with everything we needed.

The hot tub, view of and easy access to the lake, the way the house geared for relaxation, and the warm welcome from the host. We were 17 minutes from the Swift Run Gap, a less busy entrance to the Shenandoah National Park.

The internet was quite slow but it is for the best…we could all unplug from being connected all the time
