"Lovely stay at Richard & Jenny's"

9.0

Richard and Jenny are such lovely hosts, staying at Plas Heulog reminded us being at our grandparents' in the best possible way. The rooms were very clean with retro decor, the water pressure in the shower was good also. Lovely homemade breakfast, and though it would have been great to get a full English, there were no such expectations as the hosts communicated well what's included beforehand (coffee/tea, fruit, toast, eggs, cereal etc). We would love to visit again :)

The rooms were a little cold initially but there were radiators & electric heaters present to rectify that. The drive up to the property via Mount Rd (satnav directions) is narrow and tricky especially if driving an SUV or larger so pay attention to the driving directions the hosts provide before your arrival.

"Paradise for walkers (and other type of guests)!"

10.0

Richard and Jennifer are very kind people, they really helped us out when we stranded on our (pilgrims)way to Bardsey Island. Our room was very clean, comfortable and had a separate bedroom. Never had a more stunning view. We are already planning to return to this lovely address when we continue our Pilgrimsway. As long distance walkers we thought it was very handy that there is a washing machine, refrigerator and a microwave available. We also loved the fact that this address is right on the Welsh Camino route.

For us this was a safe haven

"Amazing hilltop views in an old fashioned setting"

7.0

The views were amazing, and the peaceful setting was just what we were looking for to celebrate our 31st anniversary. The owners were very hospitable and friendly, even leaving us a bottle of wine for our anniversary.

At first we were disappointed to be told that breakfast didn't include a cooked option, but actually the cereals/porridge, fruits, toast, jam, (and occasional eggs) and fresh coffee was sufficient for our needs. Alternative items were offered when told I was trying to stick to a low carb diet. The rooms are old fashioned (and I can imagine not to everyone's tastes), but clean and tidy, and adequately comfortable. The access is quite steep and narrow, but our 7 seater Ford Galaxy made it up and down several times fine, and it's worth it for the views!

This place is a great find. It is set high up in the Welsh hills, with spectacular views and peaceful countryside all around. Richard and Jenny are lovely hosts. They gave great advice about local hikes. The chalets are old fashioned but clean comfortable and spacious with glass doors from every room looking out on the views. We loved sitting out on the verandah in the evenings watching the sun go down over the mountains and sea. There is a microwave and fridge but no other cooking facilities. Takeaways and ready meals are available in the local village. If you like to put your hiking boots on and enjoy the countryside, this is a good place to stay. .
