Peaceful Lakefront Escape w Deck Views

It’s the location and the views for me. We were blessed with good weather which helps. The decor was lovely and house very well equipped. The host was very friendly and went out of his way for us to make the trip special.

View and area were lovely, lovely view to wake to and the ready for when you awake.

Right beside the lake with views overlooking the water. Fully equipped house with everything you could need. Lots of local amenities all nearby. Friendly host with lots of local knowledge and recommendations. Dog friendly accommodation.

Fabulous location - the lodge was very well equipped, comfortable but contemporary, and right beside Spring lake with a large sunny balcony. The host (Neil) was friendly, informative and conscientious; after a long journey we really appreciated the milk, coffee, tea and even a cake waiting for us on arrival! Highly recommended! (We hope to be back soon.)

It was abnormally hot (25-27+ degrees C) so flat sheets or very light covers would have been useful to replace the duvets.

Overall, our stay in the Heron was okay. Neil, the owner, was kind enough to find us fans to help cool the house. The location was great, view was beautiful. Amenities were very good, fridge freezer, wash dryer. Ample outlets.

The double bed has a comforter more conducive to winter than June. Living on a lake, the windows should have screening, it was impossible to leave the windows open to cool the upstairs for fear of a multitude of bugs entering the bedroom. Ceiling fans upstairs would have helped. We could not open the double doors to the porch because we were told that the doors would fall in on us. This should have been fixed prior to our arrival. The entrance way was covered in debris; we were told that it was tree droppings, again, should have been cleaned. The TV was hard to decipher; there should have been written instructions on how to operate it. Silly thing, but they should change the remote batteries; we bought our own. Patio deck was dirty. Table and chairs were covered in old bird poop. The wood floors were filthy, noted by our white socks. The stove top was confusing, it worked sporadically. The community trash skip area was disgusting, not sure how often they were emptied but obviously not enough. There were dirty diapers and opened trash bags strewn all over the area; we flipped a coin to determine who would take out the trash as it was so disgusting, The owner association should be more aware of this neglect.
