Grootfontein Farm House

The location is stunning and everything is crisp, clean and beautiful!

Lovely quiet location

We didn’t get any details of how to access the site until mid morning of the day we booked for (whilst en route.) As we didn’t have mobile data, we were fortunate to get past the security gate because of the chance meeting with a farmer. The private road to the house from the highway could be impassable for many road vehicles in poor conditions

The house was lovely. You get a real farm experience. Very private and safe. We loved the screens at the doors and windows to keep the bugs and mozzies out. More than enough firewood supplied. An inside and outside barbeque which was great as the wind was howling during our visit. Very spacious and well equiped.

The farmhouse feels wonderfully remote but is, in fact, quite close to Beaufort West and the entry to the Karoo National Park. Our small apartment had a fully functional kitchen and Wifi. Outside, there was a barbecue grill with firewood. Highly recommended.

A beautiful Karoo experience just a few kilometres outside of Beaufort West. The farm house has great charm and character, and is immaculately clean, with comfy beds & quality linen. Good wifi, even works well during load-shedding. We thoroughly enjoyed a splash in the plunge pool.
