Private house & garden - Casa privada con jardín - Casa Cacahuate Holbox

Casa Cacahuate was an excellent option for my family's stay on Holbox. The house was as charming as it looks in the pictures. It was comfortable and well appointed. Elena was a fantastic host - very responsive and helpful with local information. I'd stay here again without hesitation.

We visited the island soon after a big rainstorm which left big puddles on the roads, making navigation around town a little difficult. Since the house is a few blocks from the beach, getting there was a bit challenging since the town is not very pedestrian friendly under these conditions. But this seems to be a fact of life on Holbox during the rainy season.

This house is amazing and I highly recommend it. We spent 1 week at Casa Cacahuete and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful, well equipped and very clean. Additionally, Elena is going above and beyond to make sure that we have everything we need. She helped us book a private transfer from CUN airport, she knew a cook who came to cook dinner for us one evening, she knows great bakeries and she was very responsive to answer any questions we had. Casa Cacahuete is a very special place and i hope we can go back soon!

Elena is very friendly and caring. She greeted us upon arrival and shared all necessary information and answered all the questions. She was extremely helpful with her advices about what Todo on the island. Location: 5 min walk from city centre and quiet beach. House: extremely spacious for 2 people. perfect for 3-4. Clean. Comfortable bed. Has everything we needed (incl. drinking water)

Noisy neighbors on Saturday morning doing some repairs. Internet is a issue on the whole Island.

The House is just beautiful and really well located! We loved it to stay here! Also the host Elena was really nice and helpful when we needed something <3

The house inside is beautiful and the personnel super friendly. They gave us plenty of tips on what to do.

During autumn the Island gets flooded in some areas and the house is located in one of those areas. At the entrance of the house there is a huge puddle that makes the entrance very difficult to access. It only got worse with the days and it stinked. Its also brought a lot of mosquitos. This is of course not to blame to the property bit it does not happen in other more centric areas of the island.

First of all: Elena is the perfect host. She is very helpfull and we benefited lots of following her tips. ❤️ Second: The house is amazing. And perfect for anyone that want to stay close to the beach and centro, and still be in a quiet area. Its as beautiful as in the pictures. Our family loved the place. Regarding puddles and electricity: the entire island is like walking back 50-100 years. So the infrastructure is not up to date. Meaning that the electricity sometimes is out for a short period of time. And when it rains, there are puddles in the street. And guess what: THIS MAKES ISLA HOLBOX EVEN MORE PERFECT!!! Being there is a dream. A place to de-stress and and re-arrange your priorities. We have been in Mexico several times and travelled around. Isla Holbox is the most perfect place ever. We will for sure come back. And there is NO PLACE we would rather stay then Casa Cacahuate.
