SleepWell House Pyhätunturi with Sauna close to lake

Huoneisto oli todella siisti ja siellä oli kaikki tarvittava. Paritaloalue oli rauhallinen ja hiljainen, mutta ulkona ollessa oma yksityisyys puuttui. Ulko- ovesta astuessa tullaan suoraan yleiseen pihaan eikä huoneistossa ole takaterassia.

House was great. Stayed in January when it was -30C and we were still comfortable and warm, even our toddler was warmer at night if his duvet came off. Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. You would need a rental car to get there and move around as it is quite rural. The parking space has an external electric supply for preheating car engine in very cold weather. There are ski slopes nearby and a small public slope/hill for kids tobogganing. There’s a small supermarket nearby but for a large supermarket you’d need to drive to a bigger town. About 1hours 40 mins from Rovaniemi airport: we flew to Helsinki and then took a short connection flight to Rovaniemi. There was also a sled provided at the house for using instead of a pram/stroller in the snow.

No potty for small children, you’d need to bring a travel one or. Buy cheaply when you arrive. We brought a travel safety guard for our toddlers bed but the mattress was connected to the base of the bed so we couldn’t fit the safety guard and had to push a desk up beside the bed instead.

The house is located close to national park and the lake, with skiing slopes, cross country skiing routes and hiking trails right at the doorstep. It is spacious - with two bedrooms and living room with extra couch, but just one bathroom, so this is important thing to have in mind. The kitchen is equipped with all basics to cook, the place was very clean and well maintained. We loved the sauna and the experience in staying so close to nature. Definitely recommend this place.

The property is part of bigger chain and is therefore missing some more personal touch when it comes to client management. I have received approx. 20 messages about check-in instructions etc prior to arrival. This is really too much and does not make it easier to understand what is the procedure to follow. Never talked to an actual human. I appreciate automatization but also some personal touch would be nice, e.g. possibility to ask questions or get advice on the surrounding, places to visit, etc.
