Bachcare staff turned up unannounced
NZThe kitchen was well equipped and with gas cooking, the cottage was clean and came with linen and towels, there was fibre speed internet, and the fire was even prepared which was a nice touch.
WARNING: Bachcare contacted me after the review was posted saying that I will be sent an invoice for a locksmith to repair the door which had became jammed (more details below). BEWARE they might decide to try and charge you for their poor maintenance. There were a couple of things that needed maintenance, such as the rangehood fan, a curtain holder that was hanging off the wall, and the sliding door got jammed while we were there and there was no communication that the key we were given didn't access all the exterior doors so it got stuck when we tried to use it to un-jam the sliding door. The toilets were very small compared to normal, and the owner/manager would always be looking into the property from the street as he drove past multiple times a day. CAUTION: We also came back from the pools to find that the keys lock box had been opened, presumably the manager tried to enter the property while we were away but we had the spare key, not a good look.
