The location was convenient and within walking distance of immigration at the Thai border, and within easy walking distance of places to eat. The area had a nice village atmosphere. The container was clean and well supplied with things like a kettle and fridge.

The container was extremely hot during the day if the air conditioning isn't used. I think the container did have air conditioning, but I don't like air conditioning in general, so it didn't even occur to me to use it. It's not environmentally friendly to provide accommodation that is only suitable for habitation during the day with air conditioning turned on. I made the booking at short notice, for the same night. After booking the room and paying for it, I got a message via the Booking.com messaging service saying: 'Hello, please contact me at +******** (Whatsapp/Text/Call) to double confirm your reservation. If you did not contact me, i will not reserve any room for you.' The host said this was because the container was 'self check in.' Although, as it turned out, I was actually checked in by the host's relative. (I don't understand why the host didn't want to communicate with me using the Booking.com messaging service.) I had to pay a 400/ 500 baht/ 50 ringgit key deposit, which wasn't very convenient as I had found myself in Padang Besar unexpectedly and didn't have much cash on me. I think the need to pay a deposit for the key should have been clear before booking. The host did reply quickly to my messages. However, in general I did not feel comfortable with the tone of the communication with the hosts and did not feel welcome there. Seconds after I'd checked out (on time) the relative of the official host was disinfecting the container, starting with the door handles, in a hostile manner. The container had a strong smell of artificial toilet freshener. The bedroom literally had a tub of those air freshening balls that I have only ever seen in a men's urinal before. It's worth noting that the photo that is being used currently by the hosts on booking.com is a photo of two separate containers in an L formation. (It is not a photo one unit made of two linked containers.)

The place is clean. The distance to the border is 950 m or 12 min by walk. Its quiet becouse the location is on the side of the village The host is trying to do the best she can and she speaks good english. The sound isolation is not very good, but if the neidhours will be not loud - that's ok. It was my firs time to spend a night in container hotel room and it was interesting to try.

I don't remember that it would be advertised about the deposit you have to pay before check in. Its 50 MYR or 400 thai bath only, but you should have it in your pocket in cash. And there is no hot water by the way.

Not much.

We never saw the host. There is no reception. We arrived by taxi and noone was there to give us the key. It is not near anything. I had to wait with my small daughter until a neighbor saw us and called the owners cousin to let us in. The owner finally called but we never saw the owner. We had to walk more than a mile to find food and a shop in the rain. The bed was very hard. I cannot recommend it.

The room was surprisingly clean and there was water in the fridge - everything you need for a quick night / somewhere to get your head down. Close to the train station and the owners were very nice.
