It was clean, comfortable and had a lovely little terrace area. The heaters worked well - there were a modern A/C that had heating function for the room and a older heater for the bathroom. There was hot water, kitchen was equipped with basic necessities like pots, pans, oven, cooker, refrigerator, coffee machine, microwave and items like oil, salt and pepper. There was a washing machine outside in the terrace. Quiet in the night and a decent neighbourhood close to the beach and walking distance from Lido di Ostia Central Station where you can get trains & buses to Rome and even to fumicino airport. There are some restaurants nearby too - the kebab restaurants were especially budget friendly. We checked in very late in the night because of an early flight. When we informed the staff beforehand they arranged for us to pick up the key to our room from a self check in vault near the Lido di Ostia station (during day time, the company reception works here too). The staff were friendly and nice when we went later to pay the tax.

There is a tax charged per day, per person for tourists (according to law for places of accommodation in Rome) and for some reason this wasn't very visibly informed in booking.com confirmation (we double checked). The tax shows up in the listing when we check with other hotels but not once you click it and book it. The tourist tax came up to 72 euros for 2 people (6 nights). It was quite unexpected. It messed up our budget and we ended up having to skip some key locations we planned to visit in Rome because of this unexpected expense. So we highly recommend checking this cost whether you're staying at this location or in a different hotel in Rome. There is a little over 1 hour commute to key places in Rome from this location. The last return train from Rome to Lido di Ostia is around 7.00 pm - 8 pm and if you miss that, you'll have to take multiple connecting buses - which can be complicating. Since the commute to this apartment to/from central Rome can go up to even 3 hours if you end up taking the bus after 8 p.m. or before 5.30 a.m, if you're not Caucasian and do not speak Italian I highly recommend against it. We had some unpleasant encounters with drunk people and racists. So if you're staying here, plan to travel during day time as much as possible and take the commute into account. The location did not provide laundry detergent even though a washing machine was available. So if you are coming to stay long term and expect to do some laundry here, be ready to buy some detergent. Also grocery stores near this location close pretty early, so check their closing times on Google & plan accordingly if you need to buy grocery. The rooms are not very sound proof - we could hear the neighbors during day time ~ good thing was, at night they were very quiet so we didn't have an issue sleeping...but if you like your privacy ~ it might be an issue for you. Wish there were more hangars or another rack/closet for clothes.

There is no a wardrobe at all! The bad is very soft, unpleasant! There are few kitchen equipment, everything is old and cheap. The fridge was dying and was humming incredibly. There is no remote for the air conditioner

We were granted wine as compliment but it was no bottle opener in the apartment and the wine was not tasty. We arrived for 1 day and needed to wait for the cleaning.

We got nice old Villa where our apartment was located, with high ceiling. Free coffee from coffee machine.

Of course you will get different apartment. No early check in. We got bed under the ceiling, AC wasn't strong enough, so it's was too hot. No pots in the kitchen, washing machine was not working. Lot of beaches around are paid.

Perfect location, close to the public beach, with nice back garden.

Few kitchen equipment (glas, plat, cutlery), shelf, small wardrobe for clothes would be good.

the staff were pleasant and helpful with booking us a transfer to the airport and the property was close to the beach and restaurants.

we were moved to another property which was only around the corner (Via Vincenzo Vannutelli) and told this was an upgrade from appartamemto sestante that we had booked. although the property was not overly clean. there was items left by past visitors such as potatoes, stale bread and opened bottles of water and toothpaste, oil splashed up the kitchen walls and stains on the sofa. it was not very sound proof, we could hear neighbours walking around their apartment, moving furniture and people talking on the stairs until around 11pm.

- [ ] Bedding not fresh, weird dump smell. The flat was so humid that our towels remained wet for the whole stay. - [ ] Asked for a fresh bed sheets , but the office of Ostia holiday did not respond to us. - [ ] Moldy windowsill in the bedroom and there were ants walking in the bathroom. - [ ] Very loud apartment as the walls were thin as paper and every night and morning we heard someone’s recital on a saxophone or flute. You could hear everything that happens in the corridor and neighbor flats. - [ ] No hangers for the towels in the bathroom. No soap available so we had to buy it. - [ ] One lamp didn’t work. - [ ] The kitchen was quite dirty and dusty. We had to wash our dishes as per the instructions , but there was no clean sponge to do that.
