Apenas o colchão não era muito confortável.

Very spacious, well maintained and well equipped property. Located in a charming and beautiful mountain village. It is located in a typically historic type setting, but is very modern inside. Paulo was very helpful and welcoming and gave us lots of tips and information about the area.

There was nothing we did not like.

Hospitality, friendly, wery quiet. Great choice for people who love trailing and relax from noise of the big city

Nothing to complain

Mr Paulo was exceptionally friendly to us! he stayed in touch all the time, offered us a fresh loaf of bread when we couldn't buy it by ourselves, and even drove us to Casa do Adro from the train station of Covilha. We loved every single moment of staying in Casa do Adro. The house is quiet, spotlessly clean and has all the facilities that you might need. Beds, mattress, pillows, blanket: all perfect! We had a tight night's sleep every night. The church bells start at 9 AM and that is an ideal time to wake up and meet the mountain morning. The village itself is a paradise on the Earth. The people of Cortes do Meio are friendly, calm, and helpful and really liked to meet us, which is surprising for tourists. Even though we don't speak Portuguese, they've been trying to talk to us. The mountain view was breathtaking. I strongly recommend that place for those who want to explore the real mountain Portugal and see the hospitality of Serra da Estrela.

A washing machine would be a great addition to our perfect staying.

Nice owner, he send someone to give us the keys and to explain the surroundings. He called us to ask if we needed something and if our stay was good or what could be improved. We told him that we didn’t enjoy the bed and he said that we weren’t the first mentioning that. The mattress was new, he said, but he considered to buy another one since more people didn’t like it. The stove is modern and works well.

The bed was not good. The mattress let us feel every spring and the duvet was filled with feathers, which is a no go for me, hygienically and in terms of cruelty. Upon my request we also got an extra bed, because the 1,40m is too small for us as a couple and a little kid. Our kid is used to sleep in the family bed, so the plan was that the father sleeps in another bed. But that extra bed was much too short and uncomfortable, so we all slept in the 1,40m bed. The pillows were also from poor quality, unfortunately. In the kitchen there was nearly no daylight, because another house is very close to the window. So there is a need to use the lamp, wich is just a very bright bulb on a cable and doesn’t give any nice atmosphere. For heat in the kitchen there is a fireplace but you need to pay 5.- for a few logs of firewood. There was no cutting board and no bread knife. The only more sharp knife is small. For cooking we found some salt and oil, any spices you need to bring along. The shower is ok but the shower head also needs a replacement, the silver paint peels off and i got cut by holding it while showering. There was a need to hold it because there is only one place to fix it at the wall and it is quite high and didn’t work out for me. The provided soap is also not very nice, i would recommend to bring your own. By the pictures we thought that there was a yard with a playground right at the house, so we chose this place for mainly that reason. But the playground is actually a public place with some distance to the house.
