Modern 2 bedroom cottage near Bike Park Wales.

All the facilities we required clean and tidy and close to were we was working

Nothing really being really critical but in a constructive way, the outside light to rear of the back door to stay on a bit longer,

nothing. if I was being ultra critical I would say the steps down to the cottage is a bit awkward for bikes.

Great location. Secure bike storage.

This isn't really a negative - just need to put it somewhere for future renters info. Parking was in a public car park which is pay & display. We paid 70p each night to park until the free parking started. If you have nice bikes and don't want to leave them in the car the property is all set up for secure bike storage.

Location was good but had to pay for parking

Was a bit cold at times, no heating. I know is only begging of September but heating should be available if needed

I visited the cottage with my elderly mum and young son for a week. The cottage has been sympathetically renovated and was cosy and comfortable. The bedroom on the ground floor was perfect for my mother so she didn't need to climb too many stairs. Although I don't drink, I appreciated the bottles of beer left for us on arrival. The cottage was easy to find and we were given very good directions and instructions about how to find it. I had a mild panic when I saw the photo on Google maps, which is of the property before its renovation. It is very quiet, and although cars and people pass by, you can't really hear them. The showers in both bathrooms were lovely and the water pressure was brilliant! Gavin was very helpful when I struggled to get the keys from the lock box and I knew he was available immediately if I needed anything. I can see that the cottage would be brilliant for cyclists coming to use Bike Park Wales but it's also great for families. Wifi was good. There is parking available in the small carpark just next to the cottage and its very cheap to park for a week (£14). There was always a space available for us, even on Saturday night when the town was busiest. There are lots of eateries in the local area and a large Tesco within easy walking distance. The train station is also right by Tesco so you can get to Cardiff easily. We had a lovely week and would recommend this property to small families and groups of friends looking for a base to explore South Wales. We were able to get to Cardiff, Swansea, Ebbw Vale and Abergavenny to see family and friends without any problems.

If I was nitpicking I'd say a couple more tea towels and utensils for cooking if you're not going to be eating out or getting takeouts. Also, an explanation of how the bins work and when they are collected would be helpful. Be aware that there are steep steps down to get into the property if stairs are an issue for you. Other than that, we loved everything.

Feeling welcome

Very uncomfortable beds. We ended up placing mattresses on the floor just to get a decent sleep

back garden needed a little tidy up.

No breakfast

The kitchen light would not turn off it was that big and bright it lit the downstairs bedroom up very annoying

property was very clean and location was very good with being close to the high street.

only issue we found was that the toilet seat downstairs was not correctly fitted and that the mattresses could be a bit thicker for the adults.
