Kelpies Cottage

Great place. Ideal for walks in glentrool forest Park. Well equipped , clean , plenty of wood for the fire , nice big bath . Would definitely return for longer . Loved the postcards for sale

Plates were very cold in cupboards had to warm them up like my gran did in 80s. Water went cold when trying to run a bath, but that could have been us accidently pushing something on boiler controls. Sofa not really comfy , made my back ache, the one in the conservatory looked comfy but too cold to sit in there

Amazing location right in the middle of the forest. You are backing onto another house so not too isolated but a very small village, apart from that superbly remote! Lovely cottage, bigger than looks on pictures too. Would be ample for a family of four. Amazing walk from the door step into Glentrool forest. Brilliant hosts, we had the pleasure of having a power cut so Dave and Beth very kindly drove to the nearest town to buy us some fish and chips. Much appreciated! Felt very welcome and would return.

Not a criticism at all, the stars were spectacular and we were kindly left deck chairs to sit out and see them. However, you can only look up for so long from a sitting angle, so a couple of fold up loungers would be a better idea than chairs. You would lose many hours outside then!

The property was warm, comfortable and well equipped. It was nice knowing the hosts were nearby and they allowed us to enjoy our stay without any interference. There was adequate supply of firewood and starter material.

The only thing that was missing in the kitchen was to have some paper towel available. However, this is a only a minor thing. The hob was a little tricky to use the first time (and couldn't initially find the manual for it), but worked it out and it was actually quite easy to use - just different to what I've used before.

Great for the purpose. Basic but beautifully clean and excellent for getting into the hills with the dog. Value good - there were only 2 off us but if filled would be excellent value. Loved the fire and endless log supply

Shops quite far but apart from that everything excellent

The house is comfy and cosy, perfect for us and our dog Eddie, the back garden is fully enclosed and has grass for the dog. The parking is ample, the cottage is easy to find and the area is stunning and quiet, we definitely coming back 😊
