Great location and views from the balcony.

Dirty BBQ on upper outdoor level, a door to the deck/balcony was unusable due to a faulty lock.

The location and view is spectacular. You are essentially paying for the view and proximity to the beach.

Beds were too uncomfortable. My bed in particular felt like I was sleeping on a very old bed - not comfortable and feet hanging off the end. I did not get a good nights rest and this is something I feel accommodation providers should prioritise. I did not like that not enough towels were provided - one tea towel for 6 people and no bathmat in upstairs bathroom. Dishes had been put away dirty so we had to clean everything before we used them and then had to clean all dishes before we left as per instructions given, yet they happily charged us extra for a cleaning fee. I don't book through Bachcare as the prices are not transparent, booking through booking.com I thought it would prevent this however, after being told my credit card would be charged X amount, it then charged a higher amount with an additional not optional charge for a linen fee. Based on principal, I do not book places that are not transparent with their costs upfront. I would like to advocate for properties to be inclusive of all fees and not tack them on after your credit card has been charged.

Review for Booking.com WARNING-PLEASE READ OUR REVIEW BEFORE BOOKING-165 Beachside Road Mt Maungauni We booked this house through Booking.com for an adult group of 6 for 7 nights at a cost of $3000. At first it appeared to be acceptable, however the faults and issues were soon apparent. The age of the mattresses would be estimated to be in excess of 25 years old with no support for any adult size, and after the first night proved to be debilitatingly uncomfortable resulting in severe back and hip pains. We had to move to another property due to the severity of our pains. The issue of the mattresses was reported after the first night to BACHCARE THE HOLIDAY HOME COMPANY (property managers) who failed to respond in anyway. Our phone calls along with emails were ignored. ****Take a moment to google their ongoing disputes with disgruntled customers**** We were not advised that Bachcare managed this property when booking on Booking.com, hence we had no opportunity to review this company. A representative (from Bachcare) attended the property to remind us to put out the bins and when informed of our situation, responded that they had full knowledge of the age of the bedding and the old and poor condition of the furniture and the other issues as listed below. She advised me to commence a claim, as breach of contract. 1. Unsafe/wobbly dining room chairs 2. Exposed electrical cables in bedside lamp 3. Beeping smoke alarm 4. Blown bulbs x 5 5. Filthy stained disgusting cooking frying pans 6. Vomit-stained blanket left from previous tenant 7. Stained duvet cover 8. One towel each for 7 days 9. 3 toilet rolls in total for 6 adults for 7 days 10. No dishwashing cloths 11. Vertical blinds slats missing in bedroom 12. Upstairs bathroom razor power point broken 13. Overall generally grubby 14. Substandard bedding Over 6 days I contacted Bachcare by telephone and by emails and no one contacted me regarding these issues.
