Over The Arches, Chipping Campden

The location & service

The only thing was minor. The water pressure was weak. I wish it was harder.

Clean close to town walking distance to everywhere, great central location to explore the Cotswold towns 2 bathrooms and parking outside front door

Car park was a little tight

Extremely comfortable, well located close to the town, Shops, pubs and restaurants. Plenty of space in the house. Kitchen well stocked and all amenities provided. Appreciated the milk and cookies that were left for us when we arrived! Thank you! Comfortable beds and a warm house.

The property was great! However, the signage to indicate the property is a lovely symbol but easily missed. Getting to the property from Morton-in-marsh when we arrived by train was difficult and frustrating. It was Friday evening and raining and there were no taxis in sight. We called at least 15 to 20 taxi companies and not one was available. We then found out that there was a bus. It runs fairly infrequently so we had to wait a while and ended up taking a bus that took 40 minutes to get to Chipping Campden. Once there, (in the rain) , we had no idea which direction the property was. It was only the kind help of the pub staff that let us to our place of stay. It would be helpful for traveler’s, especially those coming from overseas, like us, to have better directions to Chipping Campden and the property. These directions should include guests arriving by car or by train. Had we know getting a taxis could be such a problem, we would have arranged, or had the property arrange, a taxi booking in advance. Also, of all the properties (4)we stayed on our month long UK trip , this was the first one that asked us to strip our bedsheets, our duvet covers, and put them all in a laundry bag. We feel that part of the pleasure of being on holiday, is NOT having to do household chores. Perhaps this could be assigned as the task of the cleaning crew, not the guests.

Over the Arches was a great place to stay in Chipping Campden. 2 blocks or so down the main street so we were out of the busy part of town (which wasn't all that busy) but close enough to make everything really accessible. It was quiet and private and had everything we needed for a 3 day stay including a fully stocked kitchen.

Great location right in the centre of Chipping Campden. The apartment was as described and shown in the photographs and had everything we needed for our four night stay. We would certainly choose Over the Arches if we visit Chipping Campden again.

This is not a didn’t like but rather a comment. Bathroom and kitchen cleaner for us international travellers would have been appreciated.
