Berg Treat

Beautiful view, friendly host willing to ensure power was available even though there was loadshedding and it was pretty cloudy outside causing challenges for the solar but even then had a generator available for us. The boma is a lovely area to relax at the end of the day or the fireplace in the living room. The Grotto hike is a definite recommendation with multiple waterfalls along the route.

The cell phone signal in the area isn't very reliable if you need it but perhaps it's a selling point.

Everything the place was clean. And very quiet

This really is a "Berg Treat". We absolutely loved our stay. There is a beautiful view of the mountains and surroundings. The unit is well equipt and the hosts kind and accommodating. The unit is ideally located to all the interesting little shops in the area. We will be back for sure!

Nothing

The house is fully off the grid as it's powered by Solar. Meaning on cloudy days you don't have access to electricity. However, it allows one to focus on being on holiday rather than on your phone.

Berg Treat is located in a secluded area of Cathkin Park Estate, overlooking a forest, with easy access to scenic walks in the little berg as well as to shopping facilities and fantastic experiences, such as the helicopter rides.

Berg Treat is completely off-grid, which is wonderful. Unfortunately the battery backup did not last long enough to keep the lights and fridge working through the night. I'm confident the hosts will rectify this.
