The apartment was beautiful - with 2 comfy bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, well stocked kitchen and a living/dining area with opening windows over the river & mountains! Very clean, very central to restaurants, farmacias, mercados & cafés!

Decor and layout. Loads of room. Would be ideal if staying a few days. The owner was lovely and took time to show us around and explain how everything worked.

Narrow curved stairs. Difficult to carry a suitcase up safely. Left it downstairs. Festival at time of visit so loud music and fireworks until late. But imagine it would be peaceful another time.

The apartment was quirky, but clean. A little on the dated side but everything worked perfectly and the two en suite shower rooms, although small worked well. The owner was brilliant in her communications and maps with parking location etc. She was charming and helpful. First class.

We stayed on a Saturday night and were surprised to find that there were people still in the street/cafes(??) until the early morning , as we heard shouting and activity at 05.00 am. As the bedrooms are at the rear of the property, it wasn't a huge problem, but we certainly did not expect it. Although the location is very central and close to the square etc, perhaps we should have taken that into account when booking.

Our host, Eugénia, was extremely kind and helpful… she went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. Her communication skills were outstanding and prompt, and she even took the time to research something for us and send us a map. We appreciated the port too— it was a nice touch.

The location is 100% and I couldn’t ask for better. However, we stayed on a Saturday night and there were people partying literally outside the door until 05:30. Based on other reviews, I don’t think this is a normal occurrence but I just wanted to be upfront. It was probably just an odd thing to have happened.

Eugenia made the whole experience personal and super friendly. Thank you Eugenia! The flat is really quirky and fun. The facilities are good. The front room has an electric heater and the back/dining room has a wood burner. There is air con in the bedrooms.The kitchen is well equipped and there is a washing machine and a clothes line. The balcony looks over the main square and is charming. Eugenia left us little jams etc for breakfast, which was most appreciated. Washing powder, washing up liquid etc were also all in the property. Eugenia kindly offered us a specific parking place, but we used the public parking near the river, which was close and easy to find. There is a lovely pastry shop just off the square walking towards the main shoppping street which has super breakfast pastries. (Pastelaria Picotinha). There is a really good supermakret on the main high street going up towards the train station. There is the most stunning beach south of Viana. (Praia do Rodanho) An absolute must visit we would say! We had a fantastic family meal at Restaurante Coral at the end of the industrial estate where the river meets the sea. A home from home and we will be back!

Nothing! There is piped music in the square during holidays, which we loved but perhaps other people might be looking for a quieter experience? You can only hear it if you have the balcony windows open anyway. We were excited to find out that the back wall of the property is the old town wall from the 14th Century! Indeed an archaeology dig is currently underway next to the flat! So exciting for us as we are interested in archaeology! We think it's a real selling point that we didn't know about!!!

Quirky, comfortable, clean, characterful property in a fabulous location! Lovely, helpful host.

Really friendly host. Meet us there when we arrived. Great communication. 3 bathrooms! Air conditioning! We would have loved to stay longer! 😁
