Casa Janni with heated private pool

Everything about Casa Janni was excellent would definitely come again. I couldn't recommend highly enough, photos don't do it justice. Beds very comfy.

Beautiful spacious villa. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could ever need. Lovely spacious living areas and bedrooms. The garden area is lovely with stunning views of Puerto. 20-30 walk into the centre depending on ability, and lots of restaurants and supermarkets close by Loved the pool, especially late afternoon after wandering around or sightseeing. Would highly recommend

Everything was fantastic, it was so good we are considering booking again this year. The communication with the host was great. We had an issue arriving late and they we're very polite and helpful. The location is fab, walking distance to shops, cafe's, bars and restaurants. The house had everything to cater for a large family, We were a group of four girls (or so called ladies), we had plenty of space with all facilities, one crazy member made use of both washing machines before going home. The photos do not do it justice, the upstairs is pretty much a separate studio apartment with great views of Mount Tiede. We went last month 8th feb-13th (well we missed a flight so not quite as long as we planned). It was lovely weather, we sunbathed and enjoyed the heated pool. Wow, The pool and view and house was just the best and is calling us back already. Writing a review as they really deserve it, and i feel rude booking again without sharing how good this place is. Shhhh... don't tell everyone!! There's some cool history on the place and owner too. The best villa in the area. The locals are very local. If you're used to the south it is not the same (although i have not been south, from talking to friends it sounds like it has too many english for me and being born brit i want to escape as many english when on holiday as possible). Puerto De La Cruz is lovely and we hope to discover more of the north whilst staying at Casa Janni again. Thank you

Going home

Lovely property, little dated in places, but overall good value for money. Huge communal spaces and lovely rooftop area. We loved the outside space too. Our kids loved the downstairs spaces. Good location for both the motorway and the town

The pool was cold. It is heated, but only to 23degs. It was only 21degs when we arrived (with the sun on it in a nice day) and it took the property a few days to increase this after complaining) The next day it was a lovely 26degs even with a cloudy day, but unfortunately the cleaner came round and within a day it appears it was turned back down to an unusable 23degs. Remember this is the cooler side of Tenerife and with kids the pool really needs to be 26degs to be useable. Our 4 year old basically refused to use it as it was too cold when 23degs but was happy when it was higher, but the property seeming does not want to pay for the heated pool to be heated to an acceptable level (note - it doesn’t have a thermal cover which would drastically reduce the heating bill on it). This was really disappointing as this heated pool was the main reason we wanted the house. If you want a heated pool I’d advise looking elsewhere. The bed upstairs was also really uncomfortable and we had to switch mattresses with other beds to make it useable. The property does have ant problems, but was very quickly sorted (same day) by the cleaner.

The villa was very spacious and equipped with everything you'd find in your home. We were met by the maid and although there was a language barrier we managed to understand. My husband followed her to the supermarket (via car), she later came back to the villa with a variety of fruit, bottle of wine, water and loo roll! The pool was big enough and warm and there was an outside toilet which also accommodated laundry equipment. The apartment had three good sized bedrooms downstairs - one double with baby/toddler cot and two twin rooms, spacious lounge / dining area and a good sized kitchen. Upstairs was another apartment in itself. All open plan accommodating double bedroom, en suite with bath, lounge area, single bed, kitchen / dinner and patio which was a a little suntrap with a lovely view of Mount Teide especially at sunrise/set. The villa itself is situated in the middle of the gardens and kind of sectioned off. There was a small lawned area where you could place sunbeds, paved pool area with sunbeds and small table chairs to one side with views of the Atlantic ocean, the opposite side was a shaded lawned area with picnic table/bench and views of Mount Teide. A 15/20minute down hill walk to the rocky pebbly beach where my youngest found some lovely coloured sea glass, the walk back up hill was tiring though so we didn't venture down every day. We hired a car and it was about an hours drive to Siam Water Park and Mount Teide and about a 15min drive to Lorro Parque. We flew in to Tenerife South Airport as we were originally staying down south but ended up in North Tenerife so the drive to/from villa/airport was about an hour - not too bad as its quite scenic.

As in all hot countries you will encounter their wildlife, only came across one cockroach in the garden but there were a few ants. The hosts are obviously aware of this as there were ant-traps in all rooms, the only places we did see them were the bathrooms and there were no more than four wandering around so not really an issue.

Marysia cleans the house very thoroughly, but the house needs renovation. The walls had mold. We were very disappointed as we were traveling with a toddler and this situation was unhealthy for her.
