Nightingale Lodge with Hot Tub

The Lodge was spacious and clean, had everything we needed. Hot tub was great. The lodge site was well maintained and food at bar was good. Very dog friendly site but had to keep on lead.

Location was great and the park was such a lovely place. The pub on site was excellent with a lovely seating outside. The lodge was really lovely - comfy sofas and equipped with everything we needed. Very good value for money as some of the other lodges were a lot more expensive.

Nothing - for the price it was good value.

Hot tub

It’s not bad, but there was a smell of damp or wet dog when we arrived and it lingered. The lodge just contains heat even with all the windows and doors open so it was boiling and there wasn’t any fans. There was also no hairdryer and no Prosecco glasses. The single beds weren’t comfortable and the cleanliness was just ok. The flies seem to like it in there. The lodge is just facing some trees but the booking.com map shows it as being on a different road facing the water. It’s on Turnberry but it’s described as being on Oakmont on booking.com so that needs correcting as we expected to be nearby the water for my kids to see the ducks. The overall experience was just OK.

The park was so peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway! There is an onsite restaurant which was really good food-wise. Huge, tasty portions. The lodge itself was lovely. The hot tub was fabulous! A lovely small outdoor area with furniture for relaxing next to the hot tub was the best feature, but inside was lovely too. The kitchen was well equipped. Location-wise, it was easy to get to lots of local places including York with the park and ride.

Had to phone to get check in details as messages through booking.com came from different people each time, saying different things, but got there eventually. Not an issue if you are arriving during their office hours, but we were later.

The only thing was the hot tub was freezing cold on arrival and that was the thing we was looking forward to the most.

The location was perfect we had an amazing time, was very relaxing and enjoyed every minute about the weekend.
