Hobbit Hollow

The cottage was lovely and close to all the places we wanted to see. We missed our host as we were out when she called but she had everything we needed in her cottage .

It was a perfect cosy little cottage, really good facilities and very clean!

The beds were very creaky which woke us up a few times but still very comfortable! We did notice a rodent trap under the sofa which was slightly off putting but again it wasn’t that bad! Shower was a bit leaky and the oven smoked.

Missing items such as light bulbs, plug in kitchen sink. Dirty dish cloths. Radio not working. Poor instructions for use of TV

Bigger than photos suggest, close to village, river walk and pubs, great location for exploring the area, good TV channels for children, access through both doors to get to the car

I don’t like to mention this, as the host was kind enough to check us in very early, but where we are now is cheaper, more mod cons and exceptionally clean. The property needs a good deep clean, hob extractor needs light fixing, bed clothes/towels oldish and had marks on them, log burner filthy, dust everywhere when we arrived, so I had to dust all the essentials, new pans needed - I had to scrub rust and burned food off the existing ones, old marked tea towels and cloths, which I couldn’t use, games on top of wardrobe caked in dust - I am so sorry to have to mention all of this, but I have been with booking.con for many years and it is only fair to customers that honesty prevails - if the above was addressed, brilliant!

Lovely place in a nice location. Ideal for us as was central to the places we needed to be. Celine was very helpful and even dropped round some extra towels on request. Thanks again.

Comfortable lounge, good location, lovely village

Cupboards in the kitchen were difficult to access above the bench, the bedroom was too bright with light coming in through the glass door which couldn't be closed, the plumbing was sub par which meant I needed to use a plunger to unblock the toilet from normal use, second bedroom could do with some new sheets - they were old and lots of pilling
