Cosy cottage in picturesque Snowdonia with stunning views of the Moelwyn mountains

Décor, layout, cosiness, views, heating system, quirkiness of the house layout, cosy beds and plenty of plug sockets. Location and nearby waterfall was nice too. Ideal location for Zip World and the Fffestiniog Railway.

Cracked floor tile, wobbly dining room table and bar stool. Parking situation was a challenge - would recommend not bringing a large car. The shower was slightly awkward due to the changing temperatures. Parking and shower were mentioned by the host prior to our stay.

The cottage was perfect, the area was also absolutely stunning, it was literally a few seconds away from a waterfall and had stunning mountains views, wonderful contacts from the owners if anything was needed ans they were so helpful and even gave tips for hikes, what more could you ask for!

There was nothing to not like, everything was incredible.

The area was very beautiful and quiet. Could hear the water falls from the cottage. Drove to Llandudno for the day and loved it up there.

The weather, but this can't be helped. Also, on arrival we found 2 floors tiles were smashed and loose in the kitchen area. The toilet seat in the family bathroom was broken so when sitting on it, it slipped about. When I contacted the host, I was informed that the people who maintain the property couldn't get there until wednesday(the day we left) and that the toilet in the basement would be fine to use. However this was not ideal for some of the family due to the narrow stairs. I find this poor service as if there is an emergency you are stuck. The living room is in the basement, and it is very cold down there, even with the heating on it takes a very long time to heat up. However, it smells musty down there. The sofa down there also has cushion covers that need to be washed as they smelt and the sofa wasn't clean, stains on the cushions and what looked like food crumbs under the cushions. The cottage was generally not a high standard of cleanliness for a holiday let. Also, not enough cupboard space for dry food etc if your staying for a week or so, as most the cupboards are full of paint pots and things that in my opinion should not be there. This is a total shame as the area is beautiful and we just felt the cottage itself let it down. We left on Wednesday but felt like leaving sooner. No instructions for recycling, nor bags to put the food waste in. And no mop for us to clean the floor.

Not the most comfortable sitting area.

The cottage was great value for money and the views were amazing. For the most part it was quiet with just neighbours chattering but that’s to be expected as the weather was glorious and everyone wanted to be outside. The sound of the water was wonderful to fall asleep to as well.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like but we were disappointed with the back garden. I know Wales isn’t known for its amazing weather but the week we stayed the weather was gorgeous and we would have liked to sit outside and bbq. The back garden was totally overgrown and there was no place to put a disposal bbq. There wasn’t a table and the chairs were dodgy. We also didn’t have a bottle opener which we borrowed from across the road, nor was there a plunger to make coffee ( I loathe instant) so it was a long wait for my morning coffee - the shops weren’t always accommodating with opening times!!

Location easy to travel from, as being central for driving to places of interest.

A few more kitchen utensils, tongs, washing up brushes. But not a biggie
