Villa María

I am very disappointed with my experience at this property for several reasons: Upon arrival, the owner (?) informed us that our booking was incorrect (3 adults + 2 children). However, this is impossible, as I made the reservation through the Booking.com app and clearly provided the children's ages. While I understand that incorrect information may have been sent to the owner, I was charged almost double the price for the two "young adults" compared to the actual price difference on Booking.com between a booking for 3 people and 5 people. Additionally, the owner continuously disturbed me and did not allow me the opportunity to clarify the issue with Booking.com customer service. Later, they insisted that payment be made directly to a private bank account. The day before check-out, I also received repeated messages regarding our departure. By the way, later on the owner wanted to send back some amount and wanted my bank account details...of course I did not give any bank details. If the apartment is advertised for 5 adults, why does it not provide 5 proper beds? A bunk bed for adults is not an acceptable solution. The hot water service was extremely poor. The balconies were always full of cats, making it impossible to enjoy a meal outside. The cats constantly begged for food, and some even entered the apartment. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this property. In fact, this is the first time I have ever given a 1.0 rating, despite having made well over 100 bookings.

Property was clean, spacious for the two of us and well equipped. Location was a bit off the beaten track but main town only a 3Km away so reasonably close to amenities. BBQ was good and we BBQ'd most nights. Only 20minutes from the airport but couldn't hear any aircraft noise.

The main living area only had a sofa bed and these are not that comfortable to sit on. Despite being told someone would be there to meet us we had to call the owner, fortunately a neighbour holds a key so we only had to wait a few minutes. Directions on the website leave a little to be desired and the actual address on the website was confusing with three different numbers none of them correct.

The TV channels didn't work.

Very comfortable,spacious accommodation with easy access by car. A good location for visiting all parts of the island, The house was equipped with everything one would need for a holiday stay. Lots of towels- even beach towels- and good quality bedding. Lovely private terrace sheltered from the wind. We had a slight issue with the TV which was sorted out promptly. It is useful having the owners living next door. We were welcomed with bread, milk and wine. A very kind gesture.

Given the time of year and the altitude of the house we would have welcomed some form of heating in the evenings. We were cold!
