Our stay at the Erpsstadir Cottage was the highlight of our 11-day trip to Iceland! I had read some amazing reviews beforehand, so had adjusted my travel plans such that we could celebrate my fiance's birthday at this property. The brilliant experience started before the stay itself - our lovely hosts offered to marinate us fresh meat (lamb chops and steak - some of the best we have ever had, and at an excellent price) and keep it in the fridge before we reached. They also added in some of their incredible fresh butter - how delicious. We reached at around 6 PM - the hosts had already prepared the tub with hot water. The house was cozy, comforting and so so authentic. The BBQ set-up was easy to use, and we were soon able to grill the incredible spread the hosts had prepared for us. For dessert, we were able to get into the shop at site and have some incredible flavours of ice cream. About the cottage itself - so spacious, comfortable bedding, and all the facilities you could possibly need. The location is lovely, we unfortunately visited on a cloudy day but can only imagine the brilliant northern lights show on clearer days.

we planned our detour to stay here and visit their creamery. this is the best decision ever. I was travelling with my parents and a 4 years old and they all enjoyed staying here so much. the cabin is situated on the top of the hill, secluded, giving us lots of privacy. hot tub is a plus plus plus point. too bad it was raining whole night or else this place would be perfect to spot northern light. host is very friendly and invited us to visit the farm. don't forget to visit their creamery, we only regretted not buying more produce to bring home.

Everything about the property was perfect! The house was spotless, well appointed, cozy and had great views! But what made it especially special, was the owner opened her store so we were able to purchase dairy products that were made there. the yogurt, cheeses (we especially loved the the blue cheese) and ice cream we’re amazing! S if you’re planning on purchasing some dairy products for your travels, I would recommend getting there before the store closes or shortly thereafter.

Joli cottage en pleine nature. Vue incroyable. Il y a tout ce qu il faut, c'est confortable et il y a un hot pot sur la terrasse.
