La Cartapesta

"La Cartapesta" ist wirklich eine phantastische Unterkunft: Die Lage im Herzen der Innenstadt könnte nicht besser sein, die Sehenswürdigkeiten liegen direkt um die Ecke. Man betritt das Haus von einer schmalen Gasse neben der Kirche, es kombiniert den Charme des historischen Gebäudes mit einer sehr geschmackvollen Inneneinrichtung und es ist alles vorhanden was man braucht. Über eine schmale Steintreppe erreicht man die herrlich Dachterrasse mit Blick auf den Campanile. Abends lässt sich die Terrasse wunderbar beleuchten und man kann sogar Live-Musik von der nahen Piazza hören. Die Unterkunft hat mich total begeistert, ich habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt und kann "La Cartapesta" nur absolut empfehlen!

The terrace was beautiful, but unfortunately, many basic things were disappointing. • The outdoor lights didn’t work, so we couldn’t enjoy the terrace at night. • The host insisted the hot water was working and told us to “just press a button” — but it never worked. • We were welcomed by cockroaches. I had to buy insect spray to deal with the issue. • There were 5 of us, but only 1 towel was provided. The host charged €15 per person for towels and bed linen. • The bathroom was located inside a bedroom, which was very inconvenient for a group. • Pillows and mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. Overall, the stay did not meet our expectations, and I would not recommend this property.

Beautiful property close to all of Centro, restaurants site seeing,parks etc. the roof top terrace was a bonus!

Simply exceptional: a true gem, don't hesitate to book a stay at La Cartapesta if you go to Lecce! Fantastic apartment right in the center of Lecce with access to a roof top. Additionally, the owners were kind and available, telling us where we might find a parking spot and even answering the phone for a question we had late on the 31st of December...

You need to request and pay an additional fee for bedding and towels if you don't bring yours. Although not really a problem, do keep that in mind.

A great choice in the heart of the old city. It was one of our favourite places to stay. We loved it for it's space and tasteful decor. There are 3 large vaulted rooms with a kitchen and bathroom off on the side. One of the vaulted rooms has a mezzanine floor to accommodate a king sized bed still leaving plenty of space.The roof terrace is excellent and also very large. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom is larger than most we have stayed in in Italy. Leece is a great city with lots to see and do with excellent restaurants and bars. It is also a great base to travel to other parts of Southern Puglia. Mario, the owner, was very helpful and gave us details of free parking within easy walking distance. While the parking is not near the property you can drop off bags on the square that is very near by. We would recommend and would have no hesitation staying here again.

La Cartapeste is an exceptional home. It is located in the middle of Lecce old town, in the midst of a Roman theatre, an amphitheater and a beautiful old church. The house is very spacious, beautifully furnished and well cared for, with all that you need for a comfortable stay. The greatest surprise is the beautiful and private rooftop garden with comfy seating and a lovely view of the old town rooftops. The hosts are so generous both with their time and with the lovely amenities in the house. We had a great stay and can't wait to return next year.

Great location for exploring the city. In the middle of the old-town. Great restaurants and cafe bars in the neighbourhood. The roof top terrace is a real surprise. Mario is a great host and very helpful with everything. Would highly recommend to stay here.

This was a beautiful accommodation. It was really spacious and very well equipped with attention to all kinds of details such as having condiments, fruit, ice, water and juice in the fridge and all the necessary cooking implements. We really liked the decor as it was personal and interesting and very tastefully arranged. It looked warm and welcoming. The terrace was lovely to have an aperitif at sunset. Our hosts were very attentive and helpful and the location right in the heart of the historical centre was fabulous.
