Castello di Sarna

La struttura è ben posizionata per chi vuole fare escursioni nella zona del casentino da camaldoli a poppi e altro. La struttura fa parte del borgo veramente suggestiva.

Le scale ma purtroppo sono tutti così gli appartamenti. Non erano tantissime ma ho un cane anziano e ho fatto un pò di fatica ma il proprietario ha trovato una soluzione.Una tavola per agevolare l'ingresso Fantastico!

It is a castle in a small tiny village, it's a good place to have a quiet time and space, to leave the noise of the city life and be immersed in the nature.

The apartment is in an old castle compound. It's a very interesting setting. The compound is quite remote (6 km uphill on a very windy, small road) and wonderfully quiet. The apartment was reasonably well equipped with needed items. Andrea is helpful, friendly and most accommodating. When requested we received fans, extra pillows and bug repellent plug-ins (not sure how well they worked). He also provided some information about various activities in the area. The pool is 150-200 meters away, down a hill. The area around the pool is nice, and the pool was quite refreshing.

Unfortunately, we stayed during an incredible heat spell in mid/late June. There is no air conditioning. The fans helped, but it was still quite warm, especially anytime we used the stove. Bugs/mosquitos are prevalent, so we ended up getting bit up because we ususally kept the windows open for the air. This is all to be expected in this area; just giving a heads up to others. We stayed in the Etrusca apartment, which is on the top floor.... probably a bit warmer, but we did get a breeze some days. There are 2 fireplaces in the apartment, so there was a smoke smell during our stay.... overwhelming when we first arrived but it dissipated some during our time there.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Castello di Sarna. Andrea is a lovely and helpful host, and was always reachable for any questions we had. The house is located quite remotely on top of a hill and perfect for a quiet vacation getaway. The old and lovingly renovated interior preserves the feel of a century-old building while offering all necessary modern amenities. The place is surrounded by vineyards and there are a few great hiking tours close by.

I loved everything about it. Andrea was extremely flexible, understanding and friendly. Cared to all of our needs. The apartment where we stayed seemed a bit haunted bc of the old furniture, paintings, etc.. but it has renovations done. The bathrooms and kitchen are modern and comfortable. We were a group of 10 people and all of us were comfortable. For the 2 nights that we stayed there, we would gather in the big living room to play games and enjoy ourselves. I recommend this place.
