La Casa Di Valerio

Tutto perfetto. La casa nel centro del borgo. Tranquillissimo ideale per staccare dalla città. Iolanda ottimo host, torneremo.

The property is very central at the heart of Montabone where you can walk in the nicely preserved medieval village. The cute village is easy to walk and there are plenty options for trekking, biking, or explore other parts of the Langa Astigiana. Parking is free, which was very convenient for us and the property provides a balcony with a view of the church and mountains. Another terrace allows to sit and relax outside for reading or dining with fantastic wines and food from the region.

Considering the price and the fantastic service from our host Iolanda, it is hard to find something we didn’t like.

Very bucolic and peaceful and ancient hill town. You are deep in Piedmont wine country surrounded by vineyards which means local winery’s are everywhere.. Also, a short drive to Acqua Terme for great cuisine and history. Or, just relax and tour the other surrounding old hill towns.

Iolanda was a friendly host.

The accommodation was exactly as described but unfortunately our (very nice and friendly) host had allowed a previous tenant to stay for some extra nights and had moved us to the apartment below. She only told us this on our arrival after a long journey. Instead of the advertised apartment we were given a converted cellar apartment with no outdoor space (where we had planned to enjoy the sunny weather). While she tried to compensate for this when I complained, the solution was to drive one kilometre to another house she owned to use the pool and garden there or to sit outside another property about 100m from the one we were in. So there was no possibility of eating a meal or having a drink outside or accommodation. We had to stay one night but were able to leave the next day and get a refund for the second night.

Ilonanda, the owner met us at the property and was super friendly, as well as the most helpful host we have ever had! She is very knowledgeable about Montabone and the surrounding area and its people and facilities too.
