Host Pietro was very responsive to messages, especially given that he was on the other side of the world at the time, and was extremely helpful both times I stayed here! So grateful for all he did for me. Lovely quiet spot in the pedestrian-only (& motorcycles!) heart of the Centro Storico (old town), door opens on a little piazetta that's filled with flowers & wonderful potted plants, quiet especially in the bedroom, COMFORTABLE bed (not the rock-hard mattresses I've encountered in most hotels in Italy), thoughtfully furnished, good bright lighting, very nice to have a washing machine & big drying rack, also a full-size refrigerator & freezer. NOTE: it's important to know that it is NOT possible to drive to the door of the apartment so if you need to take a taxi, the closest they can come in the day time is about 100m from the property but at night the closest is probably 500m or so.

The only natural light is from the front door, the shower area is tiny, and while there are pots and pans & stovetop & oven there are no kitchen utensils at all apart from a corkscrew so not great if you want to cut or cook anything but completely fine otherwise.

Everything was excellent about the property & the host: Pietro had sent me very clear instructions in advance on how to open the lockbox to get the key, including a video demonstration; Pietro was WONDERFUL all round, responding quickly to my many questions despite the 5 hour time difference between Italy & where he was, including booking me a taxi for departure & arranging luggage storage for the day of my late departure; the property was immaculately clean & thoughtfully furnished with everything you might need (except kitchen implements if you plan to cook much), including lots of power points, bright lighting, a washing machine, and everything was in perfect working order; I loved that the entrance faces the little square filled with huge potted plants -- a very green & delightful view; it was very quiet, at least in the bedroom; the bed was very comfortable for me.

(1) I wish I had realized ahead of time that a taxi can not drive up directly to the property. I arrived in Bari in the early evening straight off a very long set of flights from Canada (9 hour time difference between my home & Italy), exhausted & in pain. I speak no Italian & as an older woman travelling alone with a lot of luggage, it was panic-inducing when the taxi driver at the airport (who spoke no English, not that I expected him to) managed to make me understand that he could not go into the old town area at all & that I would have to walk some undetermined distance, maybe 500 m or more, to get to the property. He tried phoning Pietro's number but got no answer. So we set off but thankfully while we were driving, Pietro responded to my Whatsapp call for help with instructions that the taxi could in fact drive within 100m of the property before 20.30. So I was dropped off as close as possible & thanks to Google Maps I then found the property without too much trouble. But I would have been in a bad way without Pietro's guidance! (I found out later that Pietro was actually in Indonesia, with a 5-hour time difference, which is why he did not answer his phone but could use Whatsapp) (2) it would have been useful if I had known in advance that Pietro was not going to be in Italy & that I should communicate with him only by email or Whatsapp, but once I found that out, he was fantastic about checking his Whatsapp at all hours! (3) it would have been nice to have more natural light, as the only windows are in the entrance door, but the indoor lighting was very good, so it wasn't a problem.

The location is amazing! Right in the heart of the old town. We loved the late night walks, trying to navigate without GPS for fun! 😁 The host has done their best to make the most of the place - the cleanliness, the treats and all of the appliances!

It has little natural light which I guess in the summer would be positive.

The apartment is located on the edge of a small, quiet square. The journey to the main train station was over a kilometer, but the route was easy and straightforward. Although there were only windows in the door, the apartment was well lit with sufficiently efficient lamps. Very well equipped apartment. For backpackers, a washing machine, iron and drying rack were a really necessary bonus. In front of the apartment there was an area with plants for a terrace table and chairs. Communication with the host was smooth via instant messages. As was the personal check-in. In addition to exploring the old town and the nearby beach boulevard, we made a day trip to Matera. Definitely a city worth visiting. You can travel there by train. The station of this local train company is located near the main train station in Bari.

Absolutely charming apartment! Very well situated and equipped. Good bed. Shower space is small, but we managed well. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The apartment is very comfortable, equipped with everything necessary, and it is perfectly air-conditioned. The location is the best part. It is located in the beautiful old town of Bari, on a very quiet street and it is close to everything. I definitely recommend it, and I will be happy to visit it again!

This was a quiet, clean, convenient place to stay.

The bathroom is very small, but we knew that.
