Holiday House Ruocco

The host is exceptionally hospitable! He gave us some lemons from the garden, recommended and booked for us a great local restaurant (if you go, definitely get a big cup of freshly made lemonade!), and gave us a timetable for the local bus service and ferries, as google maps is not up to date. Garden is well maintained and very relaxing.

Very nice house and garden, friendly host. Not so easy to reach and park

Andrea is a very welcoming, generous and helpful host. The house was warm even in January. The lemons from the garden were exceptional:)

Nice and quiet location in walking distance to Maiori. Kitchen works for cooking simple meals. Super nice host who gave us a lot of guidance - what to see, where to go for dinner, walking paths etc. We rented electric bikes for a couple of days which was the perfect way to see the coast and Ravello.

Property was very clean and had a washing machine. Everything was new and in good working condition. No traffic noise. Bed was comfortable. Andrea met us at the Maiori bus stop and gave us a ride to the location. At the end of our stay, he gave us a ride back to the bus stop.

It’s in a somewhat rural area, far from the center of Maiori and any grocery stores. Nothing close by. Shuttle bus only comes every 60 minutes, sometimes longer. Very slow internet, which didn’t allow me to make my work calls. Andrea wasn’t able to fix the internet during our stay and never got back to me with a solution. The walk into town passes several run down buildings. Without a car, you will be completely dependent on the host to give you a ride at check in and check out. There are no taxis and it’s not possible to walk into town with your luggage. There are two roads leading into town. One is very busy with cars and buses and has no sidewalks and the other is less busy, but you have to walk on a very narrow ledge for about 20 meters. It would be impossible to do that with luggage. If you have a car and want to stay in a very quiet area, this could be a good option for you.

Very nice welcome by Andrea who picked us up at the Eni station. He showed everything about the house, the busstop to Maiori hafbour and the great garden with lemontrees we could use to spend a quiet afternoon or evening. Andrea is very easy to contact by whatsapp. There are cornetti, coffee, tea, jam and honey for breakfast. Airconditioning and wifi work very well. Grazie (anche per i limoni)!!

Niente, tutto molto bene!

The property was located on a little hill in Maiori, very quite and with beautiful views of the lemon gardens. Everything was clean and the host Andrea made sure we had everything we needed and was very attentive. We loved our stay at Amalfi coast!

It was a breath of fresh air, a charming apartment 1.5 miles up from Maoiri. Snuggled up on the hill, the amenities and views were a haven from the long travel and driving the roads on the Amalfi coast. It was well appointed, the bed was comfortable, snacks, coffee and tea (and Prosecco!) were there for us, kitchenette had everything you could possibly need. It has a washing machine and a line inside and out to dry clothes. The owners gave us a tour of the grounds and how to use all in the apt, where to park, showed us the garden a few meters away, and told us to pick lettuce and lemons any time. I plan to return to share with my husband because it was so peaceful and perfect for travelers.

Just be prepared to walk as parking (as everywhere in Italy) was not super close, but was always available. But, I felt very safe there and the nighttime lighting was excellent. And, I lost weight from all the walking done in Italy!!

It was very well appointed and the kitchen had all the basics we needed eg. Salt, pepper and olive oil. The garden was lovely and we were told to help ourselves to lemons and chillies. It was very comfortable for 2. Andrea and his mother made us very welcome and he went out of his to help us find the place. He came to where we had parked our car and we followed him there which was most helpful. He was also very very responsive to any of my queries. Maiori is a great place to stay and as it has ferry access to other Amalfi coastal towns but is less congested. The holiday house Ruocco is up the hill from the main town and gets lovely sea breezes and I very much recommend it.

It is a bit of a walk to the town of Maiori. There was a bus but it was infrequent but it may be more frequent in summer.
