Everything, and a very warm welcome from the Host.

Great location. Opportunity to feel part of the local community. Free from lots of tourists. Easy access to a range of local shops, including a wonderful bakery. Very close access to public transport.

The apartment was very comfortable. It was in the walking distance from the shops, restaurants, the bus stop etc. The walk to the beach was a bit long, and the streets were busy. I thought the resort town should be quieter. But Avola is a rather busy working town. The people are lovely, and the beaches are superb.

A lot of traffic in the streets.

The apartment is located in a converted carriage house. The ground floor includes dining/ sitting area + kitchen + bathroom and the sleeping area is on a mezzanine. It's spacious and well equipped, the heating is provided (we stayed there in December) so it was cosy and warm. The hosts were very helpful - our daughter was running high fever and they advised on how to sort it out. The parking area in front of the building is quite tight - larger cars might have problems with access (it's an old town with quite narrow streets).

Centrally located to Noto, Siracusa, Noto, Marzameni, Pachino, Portopalo di Capo Passero. Also, near to Catania airport. Avola is not filled with tourist and have a chance interacting with locals. There are nice restaurants and cafes such as Trattoria Chapeau(family run, good food & service); Ci: Vulia (good food & service), Mangiafico @Viale Lido (breakfast, amazing gelato & Pâtisserie) & Avveduto Caffee (breakfast).
