Spacious and great facilities

Dishwasher would’ve been good but not too much of an issue

1. Situated in the atmospheric heart of the old town 2. Spacious as it occupies the whole first and second floor of 27 and 29 Via Garibaldi (the ground floor only has a stone staircase, the high-ceilinged first floor includes a small bathroom with a toilet and washbasin. A wooden staircase leads up to the second floor where you find the main bedroom/bathroom. French windows open onto the balcony. All windows are to the street. 3. Secure behind a heavy oak door locked with a 4-prong Fort Knox style lock and steel bars snapping into stone catches top and bottom. However, no safe for your documents. 4. Private– you don’t share the entrance with other parties. The walls are thick enough to keep most noises in and others out. 5. A good night’s sleep – The bed is 1.8m wide with a firm foam mattress. There is some noise from slow-moving vehicular traffic and the clattering and banging of wheelie bins from the hotel next door. 6. Good Wi-fi at 17Mbps 7. Interesting architectural features indoors and some creative touches 8. All promised items are on hand. Toiletries are of a good quality. 9. Very clean throughout.

1. The owner only speaks Italian. Using Google Translate, they respond quickly and successfully to any messages. However, Google failed us when we tried to discuss an issue face-to-face. 2. The owner had arranged to meet us on arrival. On landing at the airport we received the message that they no longer could do that. The door key would be in the letterbox but it was not explained how to get into it. For 10 minutes we stood there in the dark puzzling, worried and feeling stupid. 3. The owner neglects the maintenance. Instead of being proactive they rely on the guests to report problems. We had badly creaking bedroom and bathroom doors, a loose toilet seat on the first floor, which meant this toilet could not be used, and a wobbly step on the wooden staircase. Also, in the bathroom a disconnected live wire dangled over the wash basin. 4. The wooden staircase is not safe as there is no handrail and the steps are slippery. 5. The air conditioning works fine in the bedroom but not on the 1st floor. It is a very noisy portable unit next to the settee that discharges the collected water into a small plastic container by its side. You can not have the unit working through a whole night without the container overflowing onto the kitchen floor. The owners failed to mention that. 6. There used to be an open fire place on the 1st floor that is now covered with a glass front. The chimney openings have not been properly sealed. Air, particularly when the air conditioning is working, enters the room and brings with it the smell of soot. 7. The settee can not be used for sleeping due to the noise from the air conditioning unit and sooty smell. 8. The balcony can not be used as it is exposed to the glare of the sun, without awning and chairs. 9. The bathroom is a relict from the 1970s and not fit for the 21st century. It is small and dark. You are expected to shower yourself in a narrow tub behind a plastic curtain. Also, there is no extractor fan.

Friendly host, let us leave our luggage at the apartment several hours earlier. These authentic apartment are greatly located in the city centre. Very good value for these money

The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The house is big and comfortable. Also very centric location. I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks!
