Le Due Baie e le Cinque Terre

Hosts - Easy checking in and out. Apartment - Looks and feel newly renovated. There are two flights of stairs (one up and one down) to get to the apartment but the hosts helped with our luggage so no issue with the stairs. Very clean. Apartment has two bedrooms, one bathroom and a kitchen, all with windows facing the courtyard, and connected with a hallway. The bedrooms, bathroom and hallway are spacious (you can open and air your umbrella and there is still room to walk). The double-bed bedroom has a shelf over the bed and my friend accidentally hit her head waking up one of the days but you just need to get use to waking up slower. The single-bed bedroom also serves as a living room with a sofa in the room. Apartment has all necessary appliances like iron, hairdryer, fridge, washing machine, handheld shower etc. The kettle needs some baking soda/vinegar cleaning. There is a foldable rack to hang clothings. Lots of hooks to hang towels/clothes in the bathroom too. Apartment took some time to warm up with the air conditioner. Location - Very good. Very very short, flat and straight walk from Sestri Levante train station. There is a little bar just opposite across the road for good and reasonably priced breakfast. There is also a Carrefour express just next door to buy snacks and drinks. We also walked to Coop and a few restaurants in Sestri Levante. We find it convenient to do day trips to Cinque Terre, Santa Margherita, Camogli and Genoa from the apartment, and very much regretted that we didn't spend more time in Sestri Levante.

No lighting for the second flight of stairs down to the apartment so we had to use our mobile phone torch when we came back late at night. We had difficulties opening the main door from outside with the key. The key to the apartment door worked fine. We also had difficulties locking the padlock of the gate at the courtyard (which allows shorter walk to one of the beaches) after opening so we only did it once. A little confused with the rubbish sorting system so we didn't manage to get ourselves out of the apartment at 10 am. Host had prepared four rubbish bins in the balcony. We didn't use all bins as we only had plastic and paper wrappers as well as food and sanitary trash but we had difficulties matching them to the bigger bins in the courtyard. Luckily the host was punctual at check out to guide us on it. The apartment is really good and great value for money.

Superb location just 3 mins walk from the train station, close to local amenities and only 5 mins walk into Sestri Levante. The ground floor appartment was very practical, clean, spacious and had a contemporary design. Excellent shower and bathroom. The balcony off the kitchen was useful for drying clothes. A key to a back gate means a 3 min walk to the beach on baia delle favole. The owners always responded very quickly to any queries and we throughly enjoyed our weeks stay.

A very minor and personal comment is we would have liked slightly more light. However in reality we were mostly out exploring or enjoying the town and the lighting inside was very good.
