Very responsive host. Unique property.

Location was great, place was comfortable and clean.

Shower was very disappointing, very little hot water and had to hold sprayer because it wouldn't hang right. Linens were older. Place would be better for 2 adults and children than 4 adults.

The house was so cozy and comfortable. Right on the main square. Beautiful surroundings. Equipped with everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay.

We liked everything.

The house is in a great location to explore the D'orca Valley. The village itself is small, but you have a grocery shop next door, a coffee shop, a wine bar and two good restaurants in a 2 minutes walking distance. The apartment is clean, very old fashioned, but has all you need for a comfortable stay.

Check in and check out were smooth, though Laura who welcomed us does not really speak English (which is really common for Tuscany in our experience). The house has lots of space! It features a smaller kitchen with stove, dishwasher, microwave, fridge & freezer, lots of cutlery, plates, glasses etc. It has everything you need, including towells, spomge, detergent, except there is no oven. The lower floor also has two dining areas, TV and a reading corner. There is a smaller bathroom in groud floor which is really handy if there is more people living in the house. In the upper floor, there is a full bathroom with shower and washing machine. detergent is provided. The master bedroom does not have a window and can get stuffy towards the morning. The other bedroom has a window and gets really bright in the morning. There is a cute balcony overlooking the piazza, where morning coffee can be drank. A supermarket is close by (400m) and though it is small, it has variety of products available! Overall, Castiglione d'Orcia is a small and quiet town. If you are looking for a relaxed and a bit secluded accomodation, you will enjoy this one!

All doors in the upper floor have matted windows/glass in them (even bathroom), so the light travels everywhere, which is not preferred if the party goes to bed at different times or even if one needas to go to the bathroom during the night. Also, all doors upstairs creeked! The fifth bed is placed on the corridor on the upper floor - really unhandy due to mentioned light, noise and no privacy. You can leave your car accross the street to bring in your luggage, but the free parking is 500m away. You need a car to get around to other tuscan towns and also the town is on a hill with curved road for access.

Maybe a little quieter than first expected

The house was just perfect! Laura was very very nice!! The location of the house was amazing,you open the door and there is the piazza:) and the lock bar ,the view is beautiful, and the location of the village is close to many other Toscana villages,we had great time!! I believe we'll come back!

Communications were very good before and after arrival. Laura was very helpful. The property was just as described. It is a little dark until you open up all the windows etc. The master bedroom does not have a window but has lots of borrowed light. This was not a problem for us, we were only 2 so we left all the doors open. The second bedroom was very bright. The kitchen was long and narrow but had everything needed. The bathroom was excellent and had a nice apartment size washing machine. Lots of soaps, cleaning supplies, plenty of pots, pans, plates and cutlery. More than we've ever seen anywhere. A large living room with a place to sit and eat. But the nicest thing was the terrace. Not huge but fantastic to have breakfast or dinner - afternoon drinks. Sitting on the terrace in front of the small Piazza with an ancient fountain, and restaurants, watching and listening to the people and children playing. was just so relaxing. Its a tranquil ancient small hilltop town, like a step back in time. Lots of places to take day drives also. We would highly recommend this and we'll be back.
