CASA IN RIVA AL LAGO

Quiet peaceful, easy walk to Varenna. Property very well equipped and very clean. Franco, the owner was there to meet us and took us to a supermarket in Bellano to get supplies. During our stay, Franco responded quickly to any enquiries we had and on our last day took us to Varenna station so we could catch a direct train to Milan.

Lack of local amenities for self catering and 30 minute walk to ferry terminal.

I was in Lake Como for a wedding with my family so booked this house for us to stay in. I have to say it exceeded all of my expectations. The house was so beautiful, and everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The host Franco met us at the train station and was incredibly attentive, and even checked on how we were getting on after he had left. Franco was so kind, he dropped my family off at Varenna train station with all of our luggage. I really can't fault any part of our stay at this property and want to say a big thanks to Franco for being so kind. If I'm in Lake Como again, I know where I will be booking!

The house has a very nice view and very spacious, 15 minutes walk from Varenna. Franco came to pick me up at the station and then drove me to the place. This was super convenient. I recommend it to everyone.

2 couples in early 60's. What a clean house! Entire house with everything that you might need if cooking/catering for yourselves. Loved the sound of gentle waves on the little beach- that is all the noise that we heard from our bedrooms - slept soundly. The balconies looking out onto the lake were fantastic; there is a shutter on the lower balcony as the sun hits the house all afternoon and into the evening. We went swimming in the lake several times from the little pebbly beach below the house- it was great. The walk into Varenna lakeside took about 30 mins tops- was absolutely fine, pavement all the way apart from a very short piece just by the house- we felt perfectly safe walking but maybe a bit tricky if you had a pushchair. We had no problems shopping in Varenna, lovely bakery, butchers that sells everything it seems and the local shop (closes from 12.30 for the afternoon) . Really good pasta, pizza and vino della casa in the restaurant in the main piazza, not quite as busy as down by the lakeside. Franco waited for us at the house on our arrival despite us being delayed a bit and very kindly took us to the station the morning of departure. Some goodies left in the fridge for our arrival - appreciated the cold wine and beer after our 14 hour day on trains from Germany! Great stay- totally recommend this house.

Additional toilet would have been good but no big deal- if you really needed it there is a toilet belonging to the house accessible from the beach - as sparkling as the rest of the house.

Fantastic view of the lake and access, we couldn't ask for anything better. The house is in a very quiet area, so peaceful nights on the balcony watching the sunset by the lake. House was spotless and Franco has been very helpful and provided everything we needed. The house is 8/9 min away from Fiumelatte train station, the path is up hill, can be tricky on a wet day. If you are planning to bring a buggy...don't!! The station is only 4 minutes away from Varenna where the ferry leaves to Bellagio or Menaggio. The ticket for the train is only 1.50 euro each way, there is not ticket machine in Fiumelatte, the ticket can be purchased on the train or online. In Fiumelatte there is 1 restaurant and no convenient shopping store, we went to Bellano (beautiful town too) which is 10 min away by train and the big supermarket is only few minutes away. Highly recommended.

Lack of facilities in Fiumelatte but once you get organised the holiday is perfect.

lakefront with multiple balconies. clothes washer & drying lines, large bathroom, Nice shower with plenty of hot water, good assortment of kitchenware & some welcome snacks. House was spotless Frank-the host replied quickly to questions. He went above & beyond to make our stay enjoyable.

Franco was an amazing host. He was very kind and assisted us in everything we needed. In addition, the apartment was very spacious and there was enough room for us. Everything was clean and we felt very comfortable during our stay.

Our stay in Casa in Riva al Lago was just perfect. The house has a ground, 1st and 2nd floor, it’s very spacious. Kitchen and bathroom both have everything you need (and more!). There’s a hairdryer, a washing mashine and also another bathroom downstairs accessed directly from the rocky beach. The house has two balconies and lots of windows - all facing the beautiful lake, making you feel like you’re in a movie. It’s also super clean. Varenna is just a 15min walk away and you get to see all the breath-taking views on your way. You can reach here by train by coming to Varenna-Esino or directly to Fiumelatte. The host is so amazing, he made us feel at home and helped us to get to the train station with our luggage. We loved this place and really wish to come back next year! If you’re looking for a place to stay in Lago di Como, don’t look further, this is the one 😉
