Villa Luce

What a treat staying at Villa Luce. Giorgio and Carmella were gorgeous hosts! Their warm welcome, delicious lemon cake, instructions and hospitality were lovely. The house was a very generous size and the peace and tranquility were unmatched in Sicily. So peaceful, serene and idyllic! Amazing views, lovely country roads for walks and runs, amazing sunsets. Plenty of kitchen supplies and well appointed family home to allow a very enjoyable 5 day stay. Excellent communication, advice and help. Well supplied with firewood for our winter stay. The views were even better than the photos can show! Amazing area.

The HWS was very small- which was a struggle for showers for a family, but we managed with super short ones and boiling kettle for dishes. Electrical supply a little temperamental in dark cold winter months, but no fault of the owner- they supplied excellent instructions, Torch and candles if necessary. And lovely fireplace.

Wonderful place and very quiet, recommend for a pleasant journey, you have to know that you need a car to reach the place.

It is in a quiet and secluded area and very spacious rooms plus the property enjoys outstanding views

The kitchen is rather aged and internet connection is rather weak at times.

We spent a beautiful week at Villa Luce. There is wonderful nature: garden with old olive trees and wild flowers, meadows around, fields and greenery. Every day we observed birds, bees and small lizards. The view is perfect. You can feel an italian vibe there. The apartment is comfortable and very well equipped. There is everything you need in the kitchen and bathroom as well. What is always very important for us - the cleanliness was perfect! We came very late at night, but the hosts - Carmela and Giorgio - were waiting for us. We were nicely welcomed and instructed about the house. The outstanding and tasty welcome gifts waited for us too. We stayed in touch with Giorgio by WhatsUp almost every day. He was very caring and asked how are we and if everything was fine. He also recommended us some nice restaurants and bars. We highly recommend Villa Luce for everyone who wants to spend time in peace and quiet in beautiful, close to the nature place.

Having to leave

We spent a lovely week of our family holiday at Villa Luce in July. It's a beautiful renovated traditional farmhouse in a completely rural setting amidst rolling countryside of olive groves and distant skylines. There's nothing around it apart from a few other nearby houses and peace and quiet - and that is exactly what we wanted, a relaxing bolthole to retreat to after the heat and bustle of busy days sightseeing. The property is super clean, very comfortable and well equipped with everything you might need, lots of options for inside/outside living, and the pool is a very welcome addition for cooling down after roasting hot days - our kids loved it. With a shady leafy courtyard at the front, the rear aspect is the highlight with an addictive open aspect looking over the surrounding countryside - the perfect place to sit out with a cold drink and listen to the birds and cicadas as the sun relents. The owners could not have been more hospitable - the welcome was as warm as the weather, meeting us in person for the check in and check out, and always available to help as needed, and some lovely little touches to welcome us including a delicious homemade cake and some of their own outstanding olive oil. The location is ideal - we chose it as being equidistant between the various places we wanted to visit, and that worked perfectly - none of the 'big sights' are more than an hour's drive - you do need a car to stay here and there is private parking attached to the house. Overall a fantastic, peaceful stay in a beguiling and rural corner of Sicily. Grazie mille Giorgio e Carmela!

There was nothing we didn't like, the property is great! The only thing we felt might benefit it even further was some shade or an awning over the rear patio area to make it more comfortable to sit out during the day.
