Ranjatai

We stayed as a family of 4 adults and 2 children. The house was spacious and gracious. The area was quiet with good access to buses. Kitchen was modern and fresh, the washing machine was handy with very good racks for drying. The two young girls loved the make up station. We stayed in winter and although it was cold outside and in the bathroom area, the living and sleeping areas were cosy.

The adults were not used to sitting on the floor all the time, so the makeup station chair was in hot demand. More to do with our usual habits than the house itself.

Unfortunately there was a major heat wave the day we arrived and the house was extremely hot inside. We couldn’t ultimately sleep in the bedrooms as the upper floor was too hot and the aircon didn’t really help at all. Not the fault of the property just bad luck.

It's a very special old house in an historic district.

The house is just beautiful and the area is very convenient.

There was almost no cutlery, no coffee machine. If you want to dine in and spend the evening enjoying the house, the kitchen has very few utensils.

No real kitchen facilities, not even a microwave. bedrooms had no privacy between them as they were separated by very thin screens and had to go through one another to go downstairs

It was just the three of us but the place was so spacious! They had cups for hot tea and chopsticks which came in handy, and they left a large bottle of water in the fridge for us when we got there! Very accessible from the train station if you would like to walk (which we did). We chose to sleep on the tatami mats which were incredibly comfortable! The downstairs is very spacious but the sliding doors and floor pillows made it super easy for us to get comfortable, Japanese style!

We loved it, but the lock on the door is extremely tricky (and should probably be looked at/ replaced) as it did take us 5 mins to lock it inside and outside.

The location was fantastic, within walking distance of everything we wanted to do and right next to a very useful bus route. The bedrooms and beds were beautifully clean and very comfortable.

There is no kitchen facilities. Some of the downstairs could use improvement. There is a lot of space downstairs but not really enough comfortable seating for a larger group. The light switches were in odd locations and we noticed some exposed wiring. The two bikes had no locks.
