It truly was a home away from home, and the perfect base for exploring lovely Kyoto. Everything was really outstanding, and we enjoyed every day. Yumi, the owner, was so helpful and sweet! +++ - Two toilets - Nice shower & bathtub - Kitchen w/ drip coffee & tea - Comfortable beds - Beautiful garden - Zou coffee (crepes & coffee) next door - Traditional room in the middle of the house - Aesthetically beautiful details in the interior - Perfect location (train, bus, subway, 7/11 and restaurants)

Yumi was amazing! She helped us with restaurant reservation and suggestion about where to go and how to get there. The home is beautiful - we had everything we needed.

I absolutely loved my stay here. The building itself is very historic, which really immersed me in the local culture, but the space is also very modern, clean, and cozy — the decor looked straight out of a magazine. I’ve stayed at a ton of hotels and this was by far the nicest. The host was the best I’ve ever had — more like an Airbnb experience. She was incredibly friendly, spoke both English (like a native speaker) and Japanese, and really made my stay special. The location is super convenient too — close to the bus stop, train station, convenience stores, and even a Michelin-starred ramen shop. I would definitely stay here again.

If I had to mention one small thing — there was no conditioner provided in the shower. Honestly though, that’s the only downside I could think of. Everything else was absolutely amazing!

It was the perfect experience of a Japanese traditional stay. We all loved it and we will definitely be coming back :)

Authentic, beautifully place.

The property is great, spacious enough for our group of 5, with cooking facilities, and nearby konbinis and restaurants. There's a lovely coffee shop next door so you can start your day off with a coffee and a crepe. The welcome was warm, with lots of useful information, maps, and recommendations about Kyoto. The manager can be contacted by WhatsApp if you have any additional questions. The walk to the main station is not too far, and there are bus stops very close to the property that allowed us to get around easily.

Great value given location and spacious residence. Close walk to park, aquarium, train station and ready access via bus to markets etc. Crepes and coffee available right out the front also, delicious.

Nothing, it was great

Family of 6 enjoyed our lovely stay in this amazing renovated inn. Great facilities/ two toilets and creature comforts especially in winter. Great location and walking distance to train stations and local buses. Kids and adults enjoyed the crepe cafe next door morning coffee and crepes.
