The place was clean and so relaxing! The shower was amazing with a cute view of a tōrō! Toilet was amazing and the kitchen was super useful! The beds were super comfortable and clean. Property is super close to the stations as well as pontocho alley. Really close to Lawson’s for a quick konbini run. Highly recommend!

んー。分かりにくいと言えば分かりにくいかな。まぁあえて言えばで、全然迷ったほど迷ってない。

Fantastic central location, quiet, comfy duvets, and fairly roomy. Loved having the use of the pocket wifi during our outings. Also liked having a washing machine on hand (once I realized you must close the lid to start the cycle).

The location and the initial cute and nostalgic feel of the accomodation. The bed was comfortable.

I am not one to complain. And if I boom an accomodation that is on the cheap side, I expect lower standards and I never complain. However, this time I paid a lot of money for one Saturday night stay and could not be more disappointed. It started with the constant messages from the host reminding us to check out at 10. There was also a 65 page manual that I needed to download to figure out how to use the pocket wifi. All the RULES! I understand that we are visitors to Gion and we need to keep noise down. But “don’t talk to the neighbours” and “don’t stream anything at all or you will be charged”are ridiculous rules! All These rules should be written in the booking platform, not in a manual that is received afterwards. It does not state anywhere that it is a pocket wifi and that you don’t allow anyone to stream movies! The lounge that is pictured is not the one in the room. The one in the room is grey fabric and is so stained it should be thrown out. It smells really bad. The garden pictured is not like that at all! I was looking forward to a morning meditation in Gion, but the real garden has two giant trees, and spiders everywhere. The windows have not been cleaned in a long time. We ate out, so didn’t use the kitchen facilities. The bathroom was ok, but much more degraded than in the photos. There was no stool to wash yourself before getting into the bath. The worst part: I was aware the beds were single beds. But in every photo the beds are beside each other like a double bed. When we got there the beds were separated by a small table. So we pushed the beds together. What we discovered was utter filth! So much dust and dirt that it clearly hasn’t been cleaned in a very long time. There was also a half eaten biscuit and a used ear plug. There were personal items from a previous guest inside the dresser. The blankets had someone’s hair on them. There were piles of dust, candy wrappers and a receipt behind the TV. And dust all over the appliances!
