Captain's Bungalow, Kandy

absolute gem of a property, very well maintained, meets our objective to stay away from city and crowded places and be with nature. perfect support system with home cooked meal (at extra cost), Ms Petra is an amazing Host along with her support staff Raja and Rani, extremely cooperative. if we happen to visit Kandy, we will surely come back here again.

we liked everything as we were well aware of the set up and location. For some, only word of caution is this place is far from Kandy main town. you need to plan accordingly. there is a bus stop in walking distance, frequency of bus need to be confirmed. Tuktuk is available from this bus stop to kandy main town. I have not seen any uber around.

Beautiful surroundings and a very nice house with everything in it you need. Spacious rooms that have even irons and iron boards in it. Very sympathetic housekeeper and an owner who is always ready to help you. Great service.

We loved the out-of-the'way location. It was so peaceful, while the colonial bungalow was elegant, comfortable and spotless. Our host Petra was attentive and extremely helpful. She went out of her way to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed. Rani, the on-site housekeeper was delightful and ensured our day-to'day needs and comfort were taken care of... and her cooking was an exceptional introduction to Sri Lankan food. The whole experience was nothing short of perfect! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It's difficult to come up with anything that wasn't perfect however, the water pressure in the 'upstairs' bathroom could have been better.

The house is very big, plenty of space to relax or spend time together, large bedrooms, each with own bathroom. Great location - very quiet, in the hills, not too far from Kandy. Host was very kind, reachable, proactive and helpful. We order food and it was the best dinner we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. We were delighted with this stay

The road on last view miles was narrow and I was driving large SUV - better come first time before sunset :-)

I loved this place - so comfortable and clean, and set in a beautiful garden. The house is more a family home than a guest house. Shady veranda is really cool and pleasant place to sit. Easy walk through local rural communities and paddy fields to near-by temples. The food was the best we had in Sri Lanka, prepared by the lovely house-keeper who lives nearby. We will talk about the banana flower and coconut salad dish for a long time to come. I wish we had stayed longer.
