Riad AKL

Wouldn't recommend this place for a female solo traveler. It is a total maze to get to the accommodation. You need a guide to get there. And there is no staff or reception in the accommodation.

I booked Riad AKL for my stay in Marrakech and was utterly disappointed. Despite following their instructions to check in at Café Argana, I was told that after 8 PM, I must use their paid taxi service (15€/160 MAD) to check in. This policy was not disclosed clearly during booking and contradicts what was advertised. I was already at the designated location but denied check-in unless I paid for their taxi. This felt like an intentional scam to extort money from guests. When I refused, they marked me as a “no-show” and refused to refund me. Their attitude was unprofessional, dismissive, and caused me to lose 8 hours of my holiday trying to resolve the situation. Key Issues: • Forced taxi service to check in (not mentioned in booking confirmation). • Uncooperative staff who refused to offer solutions. • Financial loss: I had to spend extra on alternate accommodation (350 MAD). If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay far away from this riad. Evidence: Screenshots of their chats insisting on the mandatory taxi and misleading policies are available.

The place is very cozy. The room was comfortable and very spacey. The bathroom doesn't have door to the bed but it wasn't in direct view. Breakfast was served every morning with a lot of food and drinks. And the staff was very polite.

The location of the riad is off the main street with just a way in and out. Be ready to get asked for money by locals everytime you pass on the way to the accomodation.

The riad is beautiful and spacious. The staff were also quick in responding and very helpful to us. Thank you so much for everything. We will recommend to our friends and family.

A peaceful Riad, there is one room on the ground floor, two on the middle floor. Nice roof terrace. In a good location behind "Le Jardin Secret" (these last alleys are narrow). The description says that the place has a kitchen, but we were told that it is not for the use of the residents (one of the reasons why we booked this Riad was that it has a kitchen). The washing machine is also not in use, but the Riad's really friendly cleaning lady can do laundry for a fee. There is a hairdryer in the room. In other reviews it was already mentioned that there is no door to the bathroom, our bathroom drain did not smell. Wi-Fi worked great.
