Siracusa Vacanze

We stayed for 9 days early September. Plenty of room for a couple, a kitchen, lounge/dining, bathroom, entrance hallway and two balconies. It is on the second floor, with a lift, with another security key provided for entrance to apartments. Our hosts Donatella and Francesco could not be faulted, so kind, helpful at any time, and generously stocked the kitchen and fridge- quite amazing hospitality. While Donatella struggles with English, she has French and Spanish as well as Italian, but Google translate and Francesco’ s English is quite enough to communicate. The bed and furniture were very comfortable, and heaps of towels and toiletries, tissues etc. Everything you need to cook with, and a front loading washing machine. We had a hire car, and generally parking doable, and while a little tricky at times we always found something free outside or near. Location was good for us, close to the museum, catacombs, Basilica, and Santa Lucia church with a stunning Caravaggio. Close to a small Deco supermarket, and a great chicken takeaway is across the road. For the fit Ortigia is walkable, though we found parking. Would easily stay again.

There is traffic noise, but not enough to keep us awake, and in the end Sicily went to sleep. The area looks somewhat crumbling, but surprise little shops, bars and spruced up start-ups appear amongst the old buildings and apartments.

This apartment was very comfortable with everything you need for a stay in Siracusa. But the best part were the hosts. Amazing people. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you Francesco and Donatella!!

Francesco and Donatella should run a school of CUSTOMER SERVICE. The apartment was fantastic but what really made the difference was our hosts. They were very helpful, providing information about Syracusa and all the time at our disposal in case we needed something. The apartment is very conveniently-located and it has all facilities we could need. The kitchen was full of supplies, we were able to cook and even save some money from eating out! Really, really friendly hosts and not only do I recommend staying in Francesco and Donatella's apartment, but I will definitely go back there when I get the chance!

Nothing at all

A spacious flat with everything that you need. Many details and plenty of equipment that you can use. The fridge is full of fresh food, juice, eggs, pesto, yogurt, and in the cupboard there are ingredients to cook a whole meal - all offered by the generous and very attentive hosts. Donatella and Francesco really care for you! The city and all important sights are in walking distance.

The flat is on a loud major road, has noisy neighbors and sleeping without earplugs is not possible as the closed windows let all the noise in.

Fabulous hosts - so kind and generous. Beautiful flat and delicious breakfasts! Enjoyed cooking facilities and local wine and delicacies! Brilliant place to stay - thank you so much!

I felt like home, was more than I expected. The owners made us feel very welcomed, they were very helpful and easy going. Location is very good, walking distance, 15 min to the historic centre. I would definitely return here.

I loved everything.

Fantastic apartment with a very generous amount of food in the fridge and kitchen. Everything you need including netflix etc. Very welcoming hosts: they picked me up at the train station and took me back.

Wow, we have stayed in many rental apartments all over the world and this was without doubt one of the very best equipped we have ever had. The fridge, the cupboards, the bathroom, just packed with an array of everything. The apartment is also very nicely furnished and the bed extremely comfortable. It was also very useful having a washing machine. We loved the location as it is within 20 minute walk of Ortigia but also very close to Siracusa historical sights. We were also able to find free parking nearby. Both Donatella and Francesco couldn’t have been more helpful and easily and readily available to answer any questions via WhatsApp. at all times during our stay. We loved Sicily so much we are planning to return next year and hopefully the apartment will be available when we do!

The only one issue is around payment as they don’t have a card machine and only accept cash which we weren’t aware of in advance. At checkout we had to drive to a cash point to get the cash to pay. Would not put us off recommending but would have been useful to know in advance.

Convenient to reach all of the sights by foot. Ability to prepare breakfast from supplies provided.
