Everything was absolutely perfect and the area is absolutely charming and very close to all the different places and not too touristy or crowded. The house is spacious and very cozy and Turo is an amazing host. We look forward to coming back again.

Casa tradizionale incantevole, soggiornarvi ti fa vivere un'atmosfera giapponese genuina che è al contempo moderna, data la presenza di molti comfort odierni.

Una delle stanze era inaccessibile, e la strada su cui si affaccia la casa è risultata essere spesso rumorosa la notte anche se, almeno personalmente, non al punto da rendere il sonno difficile.

Everything was incredible. Toru-san was very accommodating and friendly, and also a genius for making the machiya so beautiful and charming. The design of the machiya was absolutely brilliant, and every tiny detail had been thought of. Toru even provided us with tea and snacks, which we were very grateful for after long days exploring Kyoto. The bedrooms were very cosy and comfortable, and the bathroom and sauna were just perfect for a soak and a relax at the end of the day. I could go on forever about how excellent the machiya was, but there's only so much you can fit into a short review! "さんきゅうそうまちや! "

Instalaciones

The host was an excellent resource for navigating the city!

Classic japanese architecture and interior style. Very nicely equipped (nice kitchen with tasty cafe machine, sauna, bathtub, 2 showers, washing machine). Owner is really really nice and more than helpful. Everything was very clean. Close to Ginkakuji, Philosophy Path and Fushimi Inari. One should communicate with the owner, if you are a bit of overweight like myself, if one more mattress under the futon is needed.

A tad distant from Kyoto Station. Close from a main road but owned provide earplugs (tho unless physically impossible to wear them, earplugs should be in the traveler's starter kit).

Excellent location, relatively spacious, clean.

Toru is extremely welcoming and friendly, he also speaks a good english, the house has everything you might need, really well taken care of. Location is good, from Kyoto station you can reach the house just with a bus. Also the location is close to the University, just 12 minutes walking or 5 by bike (which Toru makes available).

There is only standard 1 bed, others are futon, so they are not very comfortable. However, this was explained in the house description. Also, the living room table is at ground level. Just a warning, both are traditional Japanese, so the house is still exceptional!
