Imakumano Terrace - Dohachi An 道八庵

Neat design and wonderful owner, everything you need to travelling, you will find in the apartment, highly recommend it.

We stayed for a week and explored Kyoto by foot from here. Rachel has done a great job renovating this machiya and inside it is very comfortable and roomy. The small courtyard garden at the back provides a wonderful ambience to the living areas and is a nice place to sit in the evening and have a glass of wine. We couldn’t fault our accommodation or our host who was always available to answer questions and provide information. We self catered and the cooking facilities are very good with basic cooking ingredients such as salt, soy, oil etc. When we arrived the fridge was stocked with a range of drinks and some snacks were also provided. The wooden soaking bath is brilliant and highly recommended. A great range of soaps, lotions etc were also provided.

Everything was great, Rachel had done a great job anticipating our needs.

가격이 조금 비싸지만 시설이나 호스트분이 챙겨주신 것들을 생각하면 아깝지 않습니다 위치가 장점이기도 하지만 너무 조용한 곳에 있어 주변 편의점이나 교통편 이용을 위해서는 10~15분 정도 조금 걸어야 해요

The house was perfect. Felt traditional, but with all modern conveniences. Very peaceful, but only a short walk to buses and restaurants. Rachel and Ryoko were great hosts, suggesting vegan restaurants and places to visit. Very highly recommended.
