The home was beautiful and the hosts were so welcoming and walked us through the property, showing us how everything worked. They gave great pointers on the area and helped move our luggage along to the next place so we didn't need to carry everything.

The house is amazing. It has the perfect items to make you feel at home. It is very big as compared to other houses in Japan. Futons are very comfortable, kitchen plenty of food to have breakfast and some beverages in the fridge. Rachel, the owner, is amazing, so interested in what we needed. She helped us a lot with everything. We would definitely love to go back to the house on our next visit. Thank you for everything Rachel.

The hotel itself is a beautiful restored city home, and the host is absolutely lovely.

Everything was outstanding. Tastefully decorated and functional. Rachel is an amazing host and always ready to help. We found ourselves saying “let’s go home” instead of hotel/accommodation at the end of our daily trips.

The location was beautiful, like a private grove. This property is one of several on a private lane, all managed by the same Hotelier. It’s a short walk to the Kyoto Trail, And down the hill to temples restaurant and public transportation. There’s a super market close by which was really helpful, as the lodging came with a fully stocked kitchen. The interior of the home was outstanding! Very recently constructed, a beautiful modern take on the traditional Japanese design, including the in floor Kotatsu, Hinoki bath (natural wooden bathtub), and private zen garden visible from the dining / kitchen area. Easily the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in Japan. When we arrived the house was already furnished with snacks beer soda candy two televisions and everything we needed to relax after a long and difficult day working. Everything was top-quality, The linens, the futons, the bathroom amenities. The bathroom was so outstanding we couldn’t get over it, it had everything including a washer and dryer, a huge tub and shower room, an indoor laundry line and laundry dryer in the ceiling (which was a lifesaver for washing our uniforms on a rainy night) It was perfectly silent at night and we slept like babies.

I had to leave and return to my mortal life after my stay.
