Amazing, clean, warm, cozy, spacious, had everything you need in kitchen. We will definitely be back in the summer.

The Hunter Lodge is a part of a larger complex on a beautiful private property with a pool and several saunas, a pond, some trails, etc. The facility is upscale, well kept up and comfortable - ideal for larger gatherings and parties.

The location is very remote - while it is very close to Kuldiga, currently there are some roads closed. We had to drive for approximately 25 minutes on a very dusty, windy gravel roads to get to the place. It is in a deep forest. We did not mind that, but the access to Kuldiga, shops, restaurants, etc. was not as quick and easy as expected.

Very spacious house, clean. Nice territory, pool. Reading other comments, we were a bit uncertain what we will get but it was OK.

As it was mentioned in the comments by other visitors - the house needs a bit of love and some sitting area inside would really increase the attractiveness of this house.

Location itself is really beautiful. There is beautiful lake with fishes, terrace etc etc. The person who was contact person was really friendly and wrote perfect english. However, the 'security guy' who was in charge 'at the spot', did not spoke any english and practically no german either. But everything worked really well thanks to contact person who responded whatsapp messages very friendly telling to 'security guy' what to do (in our case: rent badminton set for us). Pool table was really good addition and one of the main reasons why we rented the apartment.

One thing was that the shortest road to Kuldiga (via sand caves) was closed and under renovation. So 'normally' trip to Kuldiga would be way faster. However, even with road works, trip was fast enough (~25 minutes or so) but if you're not familiar with sand roads, maybe something to consider, majority of the trip to Kuldiga is sand roads. Kuldiga itself was really, I mean really, positive surprise. Accommodation was nice but not without remarks. It is bit 'outdated'. Everything works "well enough" but not for long (for example 'main' lock on toilet did not work but secondary lock works etc. It would be nice to have some big sofa to spend time with family (seems to be common trait on many holiday homes though that even big one, they are relatively empty furniture point-of-view). It was bit unclear what amedities are available for free and which not. For example there was ping pong table in the 'main building' but doors were always closed. Same goes that there was obviously gym but doors were always closed too. Not that we would have been using those but if you are, maybe worth asking if they could be used for free and would need 'security guy' to open the doors or whether you need to pay explicitly etc. But as said, contact person was really friendly so definitely you get the information if you need it. Pool was big and deep enough to 'properly' swim. However, the water was quite heavily processed (likely with chlorine). Not big deal as such but did not want to dive because of that. Especially if you are sensitive with chlorine, something to consider.

Beautiful nature around

The lodge was cold, and when we asked about firewood, one staff member told us to check with another, while the other said the fireplace cannot be used. Similarly, when we asked about using the jacuzzi, one said it was fully booked, while another told us it was available without any issues. These contradictory responses created confusion and frustration. In addition, the place was not cozy at all – very, very basic. The interior and equipment felt outdated and minimal, lacking the comfort or charm that one might expect. Clearer communication and improvements to the overall atmosphere would greatly enhance the guest experience.
