"Most affordable place in Norway with spectacular fjord views"

10.0

Fjordsview house has unobstructed high mountain 180 degree panoramic views from the wrap-around deck, that will blow your mind away on a sunny day (we stayed here 6 nights and it was sunny on 5 out of 6 days). The place can accommodate a family of 8-10 (as long as you all share the single bathroom downstairs). All the bedrooms are upstairs (two bedrooms with double beds with side room extensions for 3 additional single beds; There is another single bed in the upstairs living room) which is accessible with a narrow staircase. Downstairs you will find two large living rooms (one of them can be easily made into a bedroom), one dining room, kitchen with everything you can think of (oven, refrigerator, freezer with ice tray, microwave, dish washer, outdoor grill) along with a washer/dryer in the large bathroom (with plenty of towels and toilet paper rolls). Guests must bring their own shampoo and soap, but there is no soap tray or shampoo holder in the small rectangular shower (you have to place them over the long horizontal bar with shower controls). There is a fast internet (80-120mbps) connection and private parking in front of the house. If you are coming from the direction of Alesund, Google maps will give you wrong directions for turning (skip the turn and Google will correct it automatically). The correct turn has a road sign named “Vestre”. Fjordsview is close to Møre og Romsdal region attractions (Geiranger, Andalsnes etc.,) and car ferries are very reasonably priced in Norway for frequent trips. There are nearby grocery stores (closed on Sundays) and a great restaurant called Systra Café which is open 7-days a week (serves everything from ice cream, salads, pizza to sandwiches).

Nothing we didn't like, but listed below are a few suggestions: Dryer gets very hot and does not dry clothes well for some reason (we used the hamper to dry them) - Dryer vents may need to be cleaned. Consider providing shampoo/soap for the guests and placing them in a vacuum holder for them in the shower. The shower drain is clearing the water a little slower than expected - it may need some debris clearing from the drain. Blackout bedroom curtains will be helpful since the sun sets around 11pm and rises by 3am during summer time.
