Our host was very accommodating, waited for us (even if we arrived rather late, as per the announced hour) and gave us a nice tour. The flat is big enough to accommodate a family with 3 children. We were also allowed to park within the premises (for free). The bathroom included a sauna (against a small fee) which we did no use, however. The garden, even if not very large, allowed for privacy and a fresh breath of air. Even if Ventspils is rather small, quiet and green, it is always best to have you „own” green garden. We went there just after mid-August and the town was already about empty. We very much enjoyed the wide and long sand beach, with a beautiful see just above the bathing-limit temperature, with the children thrilled about finding amber on the shore, among the algae. Yes, we did find some small gems, unlike in Lithuania, where the beaches were more populated. A big thumbs-up. Other than that we found Ventspils a literally perfect place for families, with a generous open-air museum, where you could also enjoy a narrow-gauge train ride, seemingly the only one in the Baltics, a beautiful park and a medieval castle which was well-worth a visit. A bit of everything for everyone.

The sink in the bathroom perhaps a bit narrow, but that was also in order to accommodate the sauna. You kind of depend on a car to get around in Ventspils, but the roads were very far from busy, parking is free all-around (unlike Estonia) and the beaches were easily accessible.

I recently stayed at Amphora with my family and had an unforgettable experience. The owner treated us warmly, offering personalized assistance and making us feel truly at home. Perfect location, enough room for 4 adults and a toddler. Clean and comfy, We definitely want to come back during summer, as there is a nice little garden to enjoy and location is near the seaside and parks. You can park car inside the garden which is excellent!

Would be great if there could be another option for pillows (these were quite big) and one more blanket, but these are minor details which didn't affect our feeling being welcomed!
