Peaceful Riverfront Home with Views

House was lovely and clean with a good view. The exception with cleanliness was the cellar where the washer and dryer are located. The washer and dryer are a BIG PLUS though! We were sent clear instructions for getting in. There's a second toilet in the cellar, though we didn't need to use it. The bed is fine if one doesn't have to share it. There's a fair bit of movement when one gets in or out of bed. The upstairs was warm, so my husband just slept on his duvet in the other big bedroom. (We couldn't find a second fitted sheet.) I used my own thin pillow, but my husband thought the pillows were fine. The shower temperature stayed steady and the pressure was fine (but see note below about the well). I thought the shower water would get all over the bathroom floor, but it didn't. Do the host a favor and don't leave wet things on the bathroom window sill even though it makes a good shelf. The location was very quiet. One can buy groceries in Hauge. There are a few eating places there as well. Be sure to visit Sogndalstrand and walk through the village (classic photo can be taken from the pedestrian bridge).

I would have rated this place a 10 except for the fact that the well that supplies the water is either slow or not deep enough. Do NOT do two loads of laundry one after the other, or you may run out of water like we did. Wait at least 45 minutes after one ends to do another. I'd suggest the same with showers. We had one of us take a shower in the evening, and one in the morning. Just presume you will get only so many gallons of water per hour from the well and generally be conservative with water use. (We have a well at home and have never run out of water.) Improvements that could be made would be supplying an iron and ironing board, putting a small waste basket in the bathroom, having a spare fitted sheet on hand, supplying a second hand towel, and supplying face cloths. Paper towels would also be nice (we had our own), though I understand reluctance to supply them since some people are very wasteful with them.

House is very nice and tidy, fully equipped. For us it was also advantage that it was close to Motorcenter 😊

we’re not used to sleeping in softer beds, but that’s a personal preference
