This was the worst experience I've had with any of my stays through Booking.com. After our stay, the host deducted $100 from my credit card without any prior notice or consent. We were charged $50 for using a disposable aluminum tray that was placed at the bottom of the oven. Apparently, this tray couldn't be moved or used for cooking! I was completely blindsided, as this rule was never communicated to us. Another $50 was charged because one guest didn’t sleep between the sheets on a single bed. The host claimed she had to clean TWO duvets because of this. Beware of these hidden rules so you don’t fall into the trap of unexpected “extra cleaning” charges. When I disputed the extra charges, the host falsely accused me of damaging her oven with a sharp object. After Booking.com refunded us for the unjustified deduction, the host retaliated by publicly disclosing our private information! If I had read a guest review on TripAdvisor about how the host accused another guest and went back on her word at the Disputes Tribunal, I would never have booked this cottage. I strongly encourage future guests to take photos and keep a record of all communications for their own protection.

We liked the house itself. Very cute, well equipped, comfortable, and beautiful fire. Lovely friendly host.

The shower was awful, I couldn't wash my hair, zero pressure. There wasn't enough bedding, wished we had brought our own duvet.
