Hemingway Cottage 海明威度假屋

The room was clean and the staff helped me to locate a money exchange place by telephoning and making enquiries. There are many shops and restaurants located within a couple of blocks of shops only a 2 minute walk away. I especially recommend the bakery and the fruit and veg shops- the staff are wonderful and have great character! A Grab to the port area is only 5 to 7 Ringgit per journey.

Each room has a table and 2 chairs outside it. Annoyingly, for some reason people would regularly sit outside our room smoking. (We don't smoke). I tried to discourage this behaviour by moving the ashtray away each day, but each day the ashtray would be returned. On the last night of our stay, the owners had a big meal and sang karaoke late into the night in the kitchen area adjacent to the rooms. They even took the table and chairs from outside my room which was inconvenient because I enjoyed sitting outside in the evening. The karaoke was annoying for my girlfriend who had online calls to make due to the noise. Also, be careful when booking- a "Double room" means 2 single beds, rather than a room with a double bed.

There was a broken cabinet below the bathroom sink and the hand flush wouldn't stay in its socket, kept falling to the floor. Breakfast is apparently provided only if snorkelling and such package is opted for.. for MYR 200+ per night, I expect some breakfast like cereal, bread/toast..

The bath room is big and clear.

The location is so far away, the car of hotel you can order is super expensive about 2 times of Grab, and not respect the time.

very nice, clean and quiet accommodation. Willing owner, brought us in when needed. We all appreciated the staff Nas - especially on the snorkeling trip (one of our best experiences in Borneo)
